Job Summary Assist the Technical Services Manager in the operational management and development of the pharmacy department. Provide support and deputise for the Technical Services Manager as required. Monitor and manage Commercial Medicines Unit pharmacy contracts and be responsible for ensuring the Pharmacy stock control system is kept up to date with the latest information. Monitor current and forecasted supply disruptions, liaising with the Deputy Chief Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technical Services Manager and taking necessary actions to ensure the safe and effective management of issues impacting on the Trust. Co-operate with all pharmacy staff in providing and developing an efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service for patients of the hospital. Work in collaboration with the Technical Services Manager and organise, supervise and line manage staff working in the department as necessary. Update and take responsibility for departmental policies and procedures (SOPs) for operational activities within the pharmacy department, including for the Purchasing and Invoicing of medicines. Ensure medicines management compliance as per Trust, regional and national guidelines. Support workforce planning for technical and support staff by actively participating in staff recruitment. Key Responsibilities Operational Liaise with and provide information to the pharmacy staff in relation to initiating orders for stock items and other special items, directing and prioritising when needed. Respond to queries from pharmacy staff regarding stock supply, lead times, supply issues and provide specialist technical advice on the procurement of medicines for the trust. Ensure the pharmacy department is adequately staffed 7 days a week with technical staff at all times by overseeing rotas and workload allocation, leading on recruitment and selection of locums, reviewing shift patterns and forward planning services for staff within the teams. Manage service provision at weekends, evenings and bank holidays for dispensary staff. Responsible for the performance and personal development of dispensary staff by way of check ins, appraisals, service improvement objectives and personal development plans. Lead on ensuring all HR policies and procedures are adhered to for all dispensary staff including attendance capability and disciplinary policy. Responsible for ensuring robust business continuity plans are in place for the pharmacy dispensing service. Ensure the GPHC pharmacy standards are met and the dispensary and satellites will meet inspection criteria. We are a very well-equipped faculty with CNC machinery (3D routers, laser cutters and 3D printers) as well as a wide range of more traditional machinery. We provide state of the art facilities including extensive CADCAM rooms, electronics/3D printing room, lecture theatre and workshops.

What skills and experience we're looking for



The Governors are seeking to employ a School Technology Technician. The successful candidate will be an energetic and conscientious individual with a good degree of flexibility, as they will also be required to provide support within the Design/Technology department including Food Technology support. With limited instruction or guidance, the post holder will assist teachers in the preparation and maintenance of teaching resources and equipment for pupils.



The technician may also be required to support within lessons where specialist equipment is being used, or additional supervision/instruction is required.



Experience with CAD/CAM, metalwork/woodworking machinery and food health and hygiene would be an advantage.



Design Technology Department



The Design Technology Department currently consists of three teachers who strive to give students the best possible experience within the subject.



The school is part of the Southport Learning Trust which also enhances our technology offer through school to school collaboration.



Resources



The Design Technology Department consists of two specialist workshops, two traditional classrooms equipped with computers, and fully resourced food classroom. Resources include a wide range of tools and machines including 3D printers.
