Mitie has a great opportunity for a Relief Retail Security Officer to join the Total Security Management Team.

Relief Security Officers must be available to cover various shift patterns as well as being flexible in their approach to working locations and potential changes to working patterns.

Main Duties

-The relief security officer will demonstrate their character as determined, trustworthy, attentive and approachable at all times when welcoming clients and customers - ensuring ID badges are created, allocated and collected when appropriate.

-As the first point of contact for to all customers and clients, the security officer must be geographically aware of their local surroundings.

-Travel to various retail client sites to cover sickness, holiday and provide support to the core team when required.

-Must be able to man the phones, emails, IT systems, CCTV and Alarms, doors and car park if need be.

-The support security officer must spot and stop all suspicious sightings or potential criminal activity and retain full control until the arrival of emergency services.

-Report to the Security Operations Manager - they must record, report and escalate all sightings and arrests on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

Position Overview: This is a shift-working position, based in Bristol, although successful candidates may also have to provide occasional support at our Gloucester premises (Transport will be provided, or any costs reimbursed). You will be part of a team providing security services, including maintaining site security and integrity; patrolling; monitoring CCTV and managing visitors' access. Successful candidates will need to undergo extended security (DV) clearance prior to employment.

Responsibilities:Control access to the site/building permitting only authorised personnel.Using the Access Control System and CCTV, monitor/manage activity on site and in the immediate vicinity.Perform internal and external patrols of the site and buildingPerform daily checks of alarm systems and system health.Monitor and respond to on-site alarm systems.Escalate issues as necessary to MDL Service Desk.Provide cover for other members of the security team as required.Perform random entry and exit searches.Deter and detect unauthorised entry to site.Detect and deter any damage/vandalism and report as necessary.Where necessary, deal with suspect packages in accordance with agreed procedures.Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks/responsibilities as directed/required by line management.Be flexible and adaptive to providing cover/support for absent colleagues

Position: Area Security Officer
Location: Bristol and surrounding areas
Pay Rate: £11.44 per hour
Hours: 42.5 per week
Shifts: Day Shift 08:45 AM - 5:15 PM, 5 days from Monday - Saturday

SIA licence preferable but training can be provided for the right person.

Must have valid driving licence and own vehicle.
