The Payments Unit is a strategic business growth area for Amadeus.

The business plans foresee an aggressive short term ramp up of resources and new business opportunities. The Travel Payments area is highly complex and dynamic, with a global reach.

We are looking for a driven, ambitious legal individual with a genuine interest in financial technology and payments.

In this role you'll:

1. Manage the strategy

• Plan, build and execute against strategic objectives and projects of the Payments Business Unit, including M&A, e-money license or similar strategic initiatives across the Merchant, Payer and PIB portfolio, coordinating with senior management in the Business Unit and in the Office of the General Counsel

• Attend senior leadership meetings to discuss strategy and risks relating to payments business initiatives and provide deep dive analysis and recommendations

• Be a trusted advisor to the senior management team of the Payments Business Unit ensuring General Counsel is aware and briefed 

2. Be a trusted legal advisor 

• Lead the legal team supporting the fast-growing Payments Business Unit to deliver a best in class legal service to the business

• Ensure that products and processes are developed in a compliant manner working closely with colleagues in the regulatory and compliance teams (Product Counselling)

• Supervise delivery of advice, support and business-led negotiation on Payment Business Unit agreements end-to-end, covering both customer and partner agreements

• Manage disputes, working closely with the Head of Payments BU to develop effective strategies.

3. Manage external services and operational efficiencies 

• Oversee choice, quality and costs of global portfolio of external counsel, managing relationship with responsible law firm Partner, to control cost and provision of timely advice

• Serve as the legal entry point for business transactions, collaborating with subject matter experts on various legal activities such as IP, regulatory constraints, risk assessments, compliance topics including privacy, data and industry affairs 

• Drive operational efficiency, enhancing legal transaction operations and managing budget contributions

4. Lead the team. Manage knowledge and industry expertise 

• Set ambitious team objectives and leverage team skills to achieve business outcomes

• Network and represent Amadeus and the Payments Business Unit at a senior level, ideally with connections in the Legal Payments industry 

• Foster talent, providing coaching and support to rising starts within the team

• Stay ahead of legal and regulatory developments, proactively adapting strategies to industry changes

About the ideal candidate

- University legal degree (post-graduate qualification desirable) at a top tier University

- 10-15 years relevant post-qualification legal experience

What you will do

The Cloud Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be part of the Innovation and Technology group (ITG) at Guidehouse Digital and lead efforts to secure our cloud infrastructure. As a Cloud Security SME, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust cloud security strategies, policies, and practices to safeguard our cloud-based assets and services. You will provide guidance, technical expertise, and thought leadership in the field of cloud security, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our cloud resources.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive cloud security strategy aligned with the organization's objectives, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
• Design, implement, and review cloud security architecture, ensuring that security controls are integrated into all aspects of our cloud infrastructure.
• Develop, document, and enforce cloud security policies, procedures, and standards to maintain a secure environment.
• Conduct regular risk assessments of cloud-based assets and services, identifying vulnerabilities and threats, and providing mitigation strategies.
• Ensure cloud security compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., CIS, NIST, HIPAA, GDPR). Lead efforts to achieve and maintain compliance.
• Implement and manage security controls and technologies within cloud environments, including identity and access management, encryption, network security, and threat detection.
• Develop and oversee incident response plans and provide expertise in handling security incidents and conducting forensics investigations.
• Promote cloud security awareness and training programs for staff to ensure adherence to security best practices.
• Establish and maintain cloud security monitoring and alerting systems and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Evaluate the security posture of third-party cloud service providers and vendors, ensuring they meet our security requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud security configurations, policies, and incident response procedures.

What You Will Need:

• U.S. Citizen or Green Card is required
• Bachelor's degree is required·      
• Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance 
• 8+ years of demonstrated experience in cloud security, including expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, architecture, and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, vulnerability management, and security incident response.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies related to cloud security.
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• A proactive approach to staying current with evolving cloud security threats and trends.
