Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to partner the Distribution Centre Manager and site management team; to support in developing the capability of their people; provide generalist HR support and give strategic direction in line with business objectives, projects & other site initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Engagement & Retention
Build appropriate relationships across the site to drive a culture of feedback and continuous improvement to aid employee engagement
Support the site management team in building & maintaining strong relationships with employee representatives; including attending regular meetings, promoting collaboration and transparent two-way communication
Drive internal communications across the site ensuring key site and business messages are cascaded in the appropriate form; utilising annual communication plans; local notice boards, briefings and the Hub.
Work with the line managers to implement effective strategies that manage the sites People KPI’s including labour turnover and absence

Recruitment & Selection

Provide professional support and advice on recruitment to line managers
Support the succession planning process through internal recruitment opportunities
With line managers, screen CVs and shortlist applicants and coordinate and support with interviews and assessment centres for bands 6-10. Over see the temp to perm process for Warehouse Operatives positions at band 10 from our agency provider

Performance Management

Ensure the PDR process is fully embedded across the site, coach managers through the process so they are fully bought in to the process to maximise output
Conduct the OCR (Organisation Capability Review) and 9 box grid assessment together with the Distribution Centre Manager to identify Succession strength and development needs
Work closely with the Line Managers to action any development opportunities or support them to manage poor performance through the PIP process
Have a visible, live and up to date succession plan in place for the management team
Support the Operations Manager in building relevant & meaningful targets and objectives for the site team in line with the Supply Chain and Transport Values and core business objectives

Employee Relations

Ensure line managers are effectively briefed on any relevant changes to company policies and procedures
Confidently advise on all ER issues and be actively involved in managing the processes from start to finish including performance improvement, disciplinary, grievance and absence for all high-level cases
Seek support from the Employee Relations Team where required to set direction for the company’s employee relations policies and practices
Support and be involved in ET claims where applicable

Coach and mentor the People Advisor and People Admin Team to be effective and efficient in their roles.
Develop stretching PDR objectives for People Advisors to support development

Support the site H&S Advisor in driving effective H&S initiatives on site

The role:
The Demand Planner will be joining the Demand team, led by the Group Demand Manager. This role represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join us on the next part of our journey. Day to day, you’ll be responsible for:

• Working closely with our Sales and Brand teams (and other key stakeholders) across our UK and French businesses to ensure that accurate, SKU-level demand forecasts are created and maintained for a portfolio of premium brands.
• Raising and reviewing purchase orders correctly in line with both deadlines and demand requirement.

Your new role
Working closely with a team of design engineers and CAD technicians, you will carry out conceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures and equipment related to the construction of tower systems, bridges and complex structures.

About you

3+ Years’ experience in a similar Project Management role within an IT or Business facing environment.
Advanced Project Management qualification (e.g. Agile PM, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, PMI).
Excellent working knowledge of MS Project or other planning tools such as Monday.com
Experienced in utilising software development tooling such as JIRA, Team Foundation Server (TFS), and Azure DevOps (ADO).
Agile methodology training/experience, such as Certified SCRUM Master (CSM).
Experience of a full ERP, CMS, PMS or other large IT programme rollout from inception to delivery is desirable including, but not limited to, leading key workstreams such as data, testing and implementation.
Proven track record of working in transformation by implementing process and IT changes and / or embedding organisational change within an organisation.
Experience of helping to develop and embed Project or Change methodologies and PMO governance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to assist with the delivery of our two-and-a-half-year National Lottery Heritage Fund project ‘Ure Connected – Engaging People with Nature in the Lower Ure Valley’. The project’s aim is to increase capacity for nature conservation and restoration on undermanaged Priority Habitats in the area while also increasing engagement with the local community.
Based primarily at Nosterfield Nature Reserve, you will carry out a variety of tasks, taking in aspects of both practical conservation and community engagement. This will include habitat management, ecological surveying and maintenance of reserve infrastructure and hides as well as helping to run a programme of events for adults & families, educational sessions for school children and community workdays. You will also work alongside and lead volunteers, assist with updating interpretation and contribute to our online presence.
A passion for nature conservation and a strong desire to learn are essential, along with good communication, organisational and IT skills. You must also have a driving license and be able to take up weekend / flexible working hours at particular times of year. You will gain a wide range of valuable skills and is an ideal position for those looking to start a career in conservation.

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for Project Managers to join our Change Team in the Yorkshire North East region. A Change Team Project Manager manage contracts for a number of the regional DBFO (Design, Build Operate Finance Operate) forms of maintenance and delivery contracts within the Region. The role is to effectively manage the performance of these long term contractors and consultants supporting contract management. The role should Ensure adherence to effective governance, quality assurance, health and safety, technical and specialist standards within the DBFO and their supply chain and National Highways, to ensure successful governance, delivery of project outcomes and acting in line with mandatory and delegated responsibilities.

You will be required to work 2 days a week from the PFI Co’s Compounds near Hexham and Middlesborough.

What you’ll be leading on

Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the DBFO Management Company, Regional Management Team, Programme Delivery Managers, key stakeholders, suppliers and across National Highways teams. Ensure good contract governance, mutual understanding of the contracts strategic and delivery objectives, to review and report on delivery performance, to agree solutions that resolve complex issues and to prepare project business cases.
Contract management, programme management, financial reporting and risk management against the operational and capital expenditure budgets for the DBFO Co’s, ensuring effective financial and contractual practices are in place and adhered to by all project resources.
Ensure National Highways reputation is maintained throughout delivery of contract management and projects by delivering best practice customer and stakeholder communications Proactively manage interaction with communities, stakeholders, transport operators, road users and businesses. Project Managers are responsible for bringing all parties of the business together to deliver excellent customer information and service, throughout the delivery of their portfolio.
To proactively identify and drive opportunities for improvements and implement required changes in own area of responsibility: champion and share portfolio management best practices across Operations.
Manage and evaluate risks, issues, dependencies and constraints associated with the portfolio, leading the development and implementation of solutions to overcome these.
To be Successful

Large scale project governance experience.
Proven portfolio and project management experience (related qualifications (e.g. MSP, APM, Prince2) is desirable.
Knowledge of either Highways, Technology, Lighting or Structures construction and maintenance practices is desirable.
Experience of Managing external contractors.
