A position has arisen for a Teaching and Technician Assistant, within the Faculty Simulation Unit. The post is located within the Tithebarn Street Building, in the School of Nursing and Allied Health and reports to the Faculty Resource Manager. You must be able to start at 8:30am or earlier as required. Currently around six months of the year the post operates on a shift, with early and late work usually from 8am to 8pm, on designated days throughout the week. Occasional weekends for Open Days and other activities are required.

The role supports setting up, supporting teaching in class, and setting down of equipment daily. IOSH certified will be an advantage or required to pass IOSH training early in your appointment, to teach Manual Handling techniques. You will also support specialised technical support with medical disciplines such as Endoscopy.

You will provide first line support operating and maintaining computer based clinical simulators, manikins, models, trainers, other equipment as well as medical consumables. An element of this role includes the support of Immersive Environment technology, VR, and specialist clinical equipment. You will also support General IT, and classroom audio visual needs throughout the general teaching spaces and meeting rooms.

Previous technical experience in an Education or NHS environment would be advantageous, with strong IT skills are going to be needed to succeed in this role. Five GCSEs or equivalent or previous work/life experience in a relevant role.

The trainee Estates and Facilities officer will collaborate with the Estates Manager at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust to ensure timely delivery of estates-related activities. This role involves providing local support for operational services, focusing on monitoring statutory compliance, ensuring safe work practices, and facilitating minor capital and revenue projects. The officer will also assist in managing contractors engaged in estates and facilities related tasks. Key responsibilities include: Acting as a local point of contact for estates operational services Overseeing statutory compliance and safe work practices. Supporting the Estates Manager in day-to-day operations. Developing scope of works for estates related projects. Liaising with sub-contractors to ensure the successful delivery of estates projects. The postholder will communicate progress to colleagues across the Trust to minimise impact on clinical and operational functions and promptly reporting any delays or issues with project delivery. Additionally, the role requires flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and pressures to effectively serve the Trust outside of the postholders primary discipline. We are a 24 hour general practice, emergency, specialty vet practice that also provides boarding and we are looking for pet lovers to join our team. We are looking for responsible caretakers with diverse responsibilities.

The technician assistants and boarding attendants provide direct support to our veterinary technicians and our doctors. Restraint and handling, multi-tasking, attention to detail and other pet interaction will be part of a normal day.  We love to hands on train the future of veterinary medicine and would love for you to join our team!

Assist DVMs and other hospital staff by providing direct care and maintenance of kennel, hospital and surroundings, feeding and general husbandry of hospitalized or boarding pets. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must treat animals with care and respect and work well with them

• Must enjoy keeping pets and kennels clean. Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements:

• Dependable attendance is required.

• Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication.

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

• Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.

• This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day. • Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions.

• Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone.

3. Housekeeping and Maintenance of Hospital Client Relations:

• Agree to incorporate the principles of the VCA Mission Statement, Three Steps of Service and VCA Standards of Client Service in their daily job performance.

• Demonstrate excellent relations with clients/pets in waiting or exam rooms and kennel. Nursing Care:

• Compassionate nursing care is the tope priority for all patients.

• Keep kennels clean, orderly and free of odors.

Housekeeping and Maintenance of Hospital:

• Stock supplies as needed.

• Keep the exterior of the hospital clean and orderly and free of feces.

• Janitorial care of the hospital facility

• Make certain entire hospital including treatment, surgery, kennels and runs are kept extremely clean through the day (so that a client could come back and see his/her pet without any notice.) This includes your own clothing and appearance. • Advise Medical Director or Technical Supervisor of any conditions that are unsafe including unrecognized hazards or infractions of safety rules.

Pay 21.00/hr
