The Role of a Craft Team

• A Maintenance Operative/ Craft Team carries the responsibility of the domestic repairs & maintenance upkeep of the premises, minor projects within the site complex and all compliancy needed for the running of the site.
• The Craft Team to ensure that all parts of the environment are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic, in good repair and sensitive to the needs of the students being looked after
• To provide, high professional standards of record keeping, and reports related to the site.
• To participate in and undertake regular audits of the quality systems as necessary.
• To undertake regular inspections and address works from contractors which fall below required standard.
• To ensure compliance with all current and prevailing national regulations and inspection standards, relevant to core functions, for this type of establishment.

• To take responsibility, and manage Maintenance of your work load, to provide effective and pro-active works

Main Purpose: To support the management and development of the prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and quality prescribing within the practice. To work closely with the lead GP partners for prescribing on individual prescribing projects or audits. To develop strong working relationships with local community pharmacies in order to assist patients and provide a high quality service. To act as lead contact for any complex prescribing queries from staff. Dealing with medication queries including acute medication requests, patient medication and prescription queries. This may involve removing unwanted items, checking review dates, ensuring necessary blood tests and monitoring has been carried out, prescription synchronization etc. Communicating with patients/carers and members of the healthcare team including doctors, nurses and receptionists. Liaising with local pharmacies and hospitals regarding prescription queries, and helping to ensure optimum therapy and to ensure a smooth transition from Secondary to Primary Care. Answer ad hoc medication drug queries from GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals within the post holders expertise. Updating of medication received from secondary care on the patient medical record, where appropriate. To problem solve issues related to prescribing. To support the lead GP for prescribing with clinical administration, projects and audits to improve services and initiatives to enhance safety, quality and cost effectiveness of prescribing (e.g. Prescribing Quality Scheme as assigned by CCG Medicines Management Team, MHRA updates etc.) To work as an autonomously and be capable of prioritising work whilst maintaining accurate and timely records. Other Duties: To facilitate and participate in multidisciplinary meetings and educational sessions related to prescribing topics. To keep professionally up-to-date at all times and to meet the General Pharmaceutical Council standards for continuing professional development so as to maintain professional registration. To ensure that all information is recorded accurately using computer systems and paper if required. To ensure maintenance of accurate patient records and ensure all relevant information is documented in the patients medical record in a timely manner. Key working relationships: The post holder will be required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and communicate with all grades of healthcare staff including all practice staff, secondary health care staff, community health care professionals and community pharmacists. Communicate highly-sensitive condition-related information to patients and relatives if needed. The post holder will provide technical and practical support to facilitate the delivery of simulation-based education (SBE) for the Medical Education Department.

The Medical Education Department is responsible to provide a wide range of medical education services to meet the requirements of the General Medical Council, Health Education England, Kent Surrey and Sussex (HEE KSS), associated Medical Schools and the Trust.

The successful candidate will require IT skills as well as a high level of communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of working in a Higher/Further Education environment or the NHS would be an advantage.

The job involves working cross site in both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells according to the simulation training schedule. There will be a requirement for the post holder to be flexible in their working arrangements.

The Simulation & Clinical Skills Technician will work as a member of the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Medical Education (MTWme) Team to support the delivery and growth of Simulation Based Education (SBE).

The role demands a high level of technical, administrative and communication skills that will support all aspects of Simulation. The post holder will be working cross site to ensure the maintenance of the Simulation suites and clinical skills rooms are upheld.

There is a requirement to input information into the Simulation database and operate the computer and audio/video (A/V) technology, including all manikins and Simulation suite equipment. Setting up and taking down the manikins and clinical skills equipment for specific training sessions will be required.

The post holder will have responsibility for the preparation of the training environments, managing equipment stock levels, maintaining equipment and ensuring resources are available for all training programmes.

This position involves working closely with the Simulation Lead and Simulation Faculty to provide a safe, well equipped skills training environment.
