DUTIES

Once fully trained up your duties as the Fire Door & Joinery CAD Technician / Project Coordinator include:

• Order Processing: Coordinate the scheduling and processing of fire doors, panels, and joinery orders, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations and orders run efficiently

• Manufacturing Coordination: Create detailed manufacturing specifications and CAD to support production

• Fire Door Compliance: Ensure fire door orders comply with relevant safety certifications (e.g., BS 476, EN 1634-1), including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of fire safety regulations

• Liaising with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, site managers, and suppliers to ensure accurate order processing and timely delivery of fire doors, panels, and joinery items

• Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers to source and purchase materials for fire doors, panels, and joinery, ensuring that quality standards and project deadlines are met, working alongside the Purchasing Coordinator

• Quality Assurance: Follow company policies and procedures related to quality assurance (ISO 9001) and sustainable sourcing (FSC certification, Breeam, leed etc)

• Order Confirmation: Prepare and confirm works orders

• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of project progress, orders, and communications

• Problem-Solving: Identify and proactively solve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle, particularly those related to fire door and joinery compliance

• Team Collaboration: Assist Project Managers with high-value projects and provide additional support to other team members as needed

Requirements:

• AutoCAD/Solidworks knowledge
• Experience in working within manaufacturing
• Have excellent customer service experience and the ability to undertake cost negotiation with both customers and suppliers.
• Hold Engineering qualifications including Level 3 Engineering.

We would expect the successful CAD Technician to be able to demonstrate, a good working knowledge of CAD, have excellent communication skills, and be able to educate others. Working directly with the Technical Lead and Engineering Manager, as well as other departments. You will be supported 1 to 1 to become familiar with the company processes and procedures. This would be an ideal role for you if have worked within engineering, design or mechanical engineering.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Quality Systems Technician to join our Quality team to cover a leave of absence. This position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative team dedicated to maintaining quality standards across our operations. The role requires experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and familiarity with international standards, particularly ISO 9001. This position will involve a balance of on-site and remote work, with a minimum requirement of three days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Management System (QMS) Maintenance: Support and maintain the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with standards and enhancing operational quality.
• Internal Audits: Plan, schedule, and lead internal audits effectively and in accordance with ISO standards.
• Documentation and Policies: Draft, review, and maintain essential documentation, including work instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Reporting: Generate and manage quality reports to track issues, improvements, and corrective actions.
• Corrective Actions: Identify and raise corrective actions, collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive resolution and improvements.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Quality Management System (QMS) Experience: Demonstrable experience with QMS management and conducting internal audits in previous roles.
• ISO Standards Knowledge:
  • Essential: ISO 9001 familiarity
  • Desirable: ISO 451001 familiarity as an alternative to ISO 9001
• Industry Background: Experience in operations, manufacturing, or logistics, with a preference for candidates from a manufacturing background due to the specific ISO requirements.

Reporting to the Aftersales Manager this position is offered on a full-time working contract paying £29,2500 for 40 hours, Monday – Friday, with 1 in 3 Saturdays and an OTE of £40,000 (which was our average earnings for a Vehicle Technician last year!)

Required Skills & Experience

To be considered for the position you will need to possess a relevant formal qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3) as a minimum. We are looking for individuals who possess the following attributes & skills:


A full UK driving licence
Experience of inspection, repair and servicing motor vehicles
MOT Tester qualification would be highly beneficial
Fantastic verbal and written English skills
Previous experience working in a franchised dealership (preferred but not essential)
