Cleaner
Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre

Hours – Full time 38.5 hrs

Here at Serco we have an opportunity for a Cleaning Operative to join our close-knit team working in Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre.
By joining our Cleaning Services team, you’ll work as part of a team ensuring that all area’s assigned are cleaned to the highest standard using the equipment provided, keeping schedules updated, maintain records of tools and carry out any other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager/Senior Engineer.
You will have a flexible and proactive approach with the ability to self-motivate and use your own initiative to prioritise workload with added duties such as:
- Maintaining cleaning stock within designated areas
- Complying with Health & Safety Cleaning Procedures
- Carrying out any other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager/Senior Engineer
- Cleaning all areas that are assigned to the Cleaning Schedule
What you’ll need to do the role
First and foremost, previous experience is essential, and you must have a Basic Health & Safety qualification. You must be able to operate equipment i.e. vacuums, buffers & wet vac machines and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office.
