The post holder will:
• Support the processing and delivery of GP revalidation recommendations and annual appraisal for doctors connected to NHS England – South East.
• Support the team in maintaining NHS England’s Responsible Officer (RO) connections and the Revalidation Management System for circa 9000 General Practitioners.
• Manage individual cases arising from appraisals and non-engaged practitioners.
• Manage difficult conversations with General Practitioners, providing support and advice about their appraisal and revalidation.

The Professional Standards Team (whose functions include Performance, Appraisal and Revalidation and National Performers Lists Management) is responsible for ensuring high quality and safety of primary care services by managing any concerns relating to primary care practitioners across the three (GPs, dentists, and opticians) independent contractor groups.

The Responsible Officer (RO) Regulations provide an unprecedented degree of leverage to ensure the quality of medical staff and safety of care across all NHS and independent sector providers. The Professional Standards Team ensures that recommendations for Revalidation are completed appropriately.

The Professional Standards Team carries out all functions associated with the Responsible Officer (RO) Regulations and support the RO in making recommendations to the GMC regarding the revalidation of NHS GPs.

Medical revalidation is a statutory process where licensed doctors in England must demonstrate to the General Medical Council (GMC), usually every five years, that they are up to date and fit to practise. During the five-year period we ensure arrangements are in place for doctor to undertake an annual appraisal in accordance with the regulations.

Designated bodies with prescribed connections to doctors must appoint a Responsible (RO) Officer. Designated bodies, of which NHS England is one, have a statutory duty to support their RO in discharging their duties.

Performance of GPs, Dentists and Ophthalmic Practitioners is managed through the Performers List Regulations, whilst Pharmacists are managed in conjunction with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

The Professional Standards Team supports the administration of appraiser payments, including the issuing of Solo forms and pension contribution queries.

We are looking for a Rehabilitation Specialist to help us build a healthier nation at our insert location We are looking for a Rehabilitation Specialist who will deliver Nuffield Health Rehabilitation Programmes utilising the unique Nuffield Health pathway, championing the Charitable Purpose. This role will play a crucial part in Nuffield's long-term vision for clinical rehabilitation and will require the Rehabilitation Specialist to undertake remote (digital) and in person facilitation of exercise, emotion wellbeing support, healthy eating, and goal setting to aid the participants recovery. The pathway will involve weekly 1to1s, group exercise classes (virtual and in person), promote goal setting and self-directed activity.

You will demonstrate leadership and influencing skills, be a good communicator, organised and self-motived. As part of this role, you will work collaboratively onsite, centrally and with our Charty team and our beneficiaries. You will need excellent IT skills and hold a Level 3 Personal trainer qualification.

As a Rehabilitation Specialist you will:

• Run a series of 12-week rehabilitation programmes
• Facilitate and deliver both live stream and in person group exercise classes, with people of varying abilities and physical function
• Be able to promote self-directed activity using pre-recorded on demand classes and a journal which will aid in the participants being able to self-manage their condition after the 12-week Programme
• Be able to re-calibrate exercises and intensities based on regular improvements demonstrated by changes in effort and performance
• Identify any deterioration of participants and where necessary follow internal escalation processes
• Deliver or facilitate various exercise modalities from circuit training to strength training, whilst working within peoples varying physical abilities
• Be required to work flexibly and have good organizational skills to balance multiple Programme groups (cohorts) at once and process new referrals
• Engage in 1to1 telephone conversations each week with every participant to offer coaching in terms of setting short term and long-term goals, understanding restrictions, monitoring progress, understanding and offering emotional wellbeing support, and empowering self-directed activity
• Ensure that outcome data is accurately captured, which is essential in supporting our Charitable Purpose and tracking and monitoring participants progress

Reporting to the centre manager you will be working independently, but as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team within the clinic.  You will show flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service and establishing good working relationships.

The department can be extremely busy, and you must be able to work with efficiency in a complex environment and have an adaptability and sensitivity to work in a diverse working environment.

Other duties include:

• Organise the daily work programme to ensure that the department runs efficiently.

• Work flexible hours if required to accommodate changing workload patterns of the Mammography service.

• Perform high quality examinations as required by referring physicians according to departmental policies and procedures.

• Ensure that all patients being imaged receive a very high standard of care.

• Accurately analyse the acquired data, record results and produce high quality images for reporting.

• Ensure all equipment within the department is cared for and maintained, cleanliness is upheld and that all equipment faults are reported immediately. Maintain the efficient use of all resources, establish stock control systems and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

·       A flexible and adaptive working attitude is crucial.

·       Use your own initiative in responding to the needs of the service and have a strong focus on streamlining the patient pathway through the imaging department.

·       Work closely with the Lead Mammographer to maintain and enhance the Breast imaging service we offer to our patients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

·       BSc or DCR in Radiography (essential)

·       Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography (essential)
