An exciting opportunity exists to appoint a substantive Trust Senior House Officer (CT1/CT2 equivalent) to the General Surgery department at our hospital. The successful candidate will be linked with elective breast surgery but there will be opportunity to rotate to other surgical subspecialties based on the candidates’ training needs.

The post will be fully integrated into the elective and emergency workload of the department. The successful candidates will be part of a 1:10 rota, covering emergencies in General Surgery and Urology.

On calls are supported by two F1’s during the day and one F1 at night; and one resident registrar on call on the site at all times The emergency take is supported by three consultants. One from the Emergency Surgical Assessment Unit, one Emergency theatre surgeon and one on-call consultant. All candidates must be eligible for registration with the General Medical Council. The Main duties of the post will involve seeing, diagnosing, and treating General Surgical patients, referring to other clinicians or general practitioners where appropriate and theatre. There will also be involvement in the management of the linked elective subspecialty patients. You will be expected to work closely with appropriate nursing, professional, technical, administrative and support staff.

You will be responsible jointly with the Registrars for ensuring high standard of care is delivered to patients. In particular, the teams should organised themselves such that twice-daily review of patients occurs at Watford General Hospital. You will be responsible for ensuring adequate clinical notes are made in accordance with good medical practice.

The post involves working across three sites at Watford General Hospital, Hemel Hempstead General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital.

Regular lunchtime meetings are held for local General Practitioners and hospital medical staff (weekly Grand Round) on both sites. There is in addition a wide variety of Postgraduate training in other disciplines and the trainee will be able to attend a range of such meetings. The respective Postgraduate Medical Centres Administrators issue a full programme each term.

The post holder will be indemnified by the trust for all NHS work undertaken as part of the contract of employment. What You Will Achieve

The Administrative Professional in the Administrative Center of Excellence (ACOE) plays a crucial role in supporting the efficient functioning of the ACOE and providing administrative assistance and project management support to the team. This position requires excellent organizational skills, customer service and attention to detail. The Administrative Professional will be responsible for daily administrative tasks, meeting coordination, maintaining records, and supporting the overall operations of the ACOE.

How You Will Achieve It

• Administrative Support: Assists the ACOE team by managing schedules and handling correspondence.

• Document Management: Create, documentation, presentations, and reports as required. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to internal established process guidelines.

• Data Management: Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, and other records related to the ACOE's activities. Collate and analyze data to create reports and offer insights.

• Meeting Coordination: Schedule and coordinate meetings, workshops, and training sessions for the ACOE team. Prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute meeting materials as needed.

• Communication: Assist in drafting and proofreading internal and external communications, including emails, memos, and announcements. Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information.

• Travel and Expense Management: Coordinate travel arrangements and expense reports for ACOE team, ensuring compliance with company process and policies..

• Project Support: Assist in the coordination and tracking of ACOE projects, including monitoring timelines, preparing project documentation, and facilitating communication among team members.

• Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Administrative Professional or in a similar role.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

ROLE SUMMARY

This is a new role within Biopharma, reporting into the Global Commercial Innovation Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging core innovation principles to elevate the level of engagement with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). Your primary focus will be on driving marketing innovation initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and impact of our Customer Facing Colleagues (CFCs)

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a comprehensive HCP innovation strategy to develop and build a portfolio of products & solutions that improve HCP engagement.
• Oversee the overall product development cycle for these solutions, covering Strategy & Insights, Product Management, Product Marketing and Partnerships.
• Harness the power of data and analytics to identify and prioritize innovation, measure performance, and optimize decision-making. Use analytical frameworks to derive actionable insights and guide initiatives.   
• Help elevate and fine-tune a structured innovation process that provides visibility to the portfolio, progress, funding needs and facilities idea generation across Biopharma.
• Biased towards successfully landing products and scale extensively. Implements innovation in pilot market, creating a plan to adapt to further markets and scale globally.  
• Cultivate relationship and collaborate with brand and country leadership and local ecosystem stakeholders who can serve as potential innovation partners
• Serve as a thought leader in HCP / CFC engagement innovation, representing our organization at industry conferences, events, and forums.
• Foster strategic partnerships and collaborations with external stakeholders, including HCPs, industry experts, and technology vendors, to drive innovation and stay at the forefront of industry trends.
• Collaborate and lead cross-functional teams that include agencies, Analytics, CX, and internal digital teams in the development and delivery of prototypes and scalable solutions.
• Build, manage and develop a cross functional team of exceptional talent fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• Act as a key enabler in building a strong culture and driving the CMOs disruptive innovation agenda

Basic Qualifications

• Experience (15+ years) in positions of HCP and CFC innovation with proven track record, especially in product development roles covering conception through implementation
• Proven track record of driving transformative marketing innovation initiatives that have delivered measurable results and business impact.
• Deep curiosity about the most impactful customer and company problems-to-solve
• Willingness to experiment, and comfortable creating a ‘fail fast, learn fast’ culture
• Have courage to provide objective opinions, especially when evaluating go/no-go innovation decisions
• Ability to build close relationships with ecosystem leaders to drive innovative partnership opportunities
• Experience with piloting innovations in multiple geographies
• Bachelor's degree
