Homestead Advisers isn’t your typical investment manager. Founded in 1990 by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), our start-up story is unique. Our roots run deep in providing high-quality, affordable investment products to over 400 electric cooperatives and their members through investments in Homestead Funds. For over 30 years, Homestead Advisers has grown in size and scope, but our client-focused approach remains clear. As a boutique firm, our experienced portfolio managers actively manage the strategies, ensuring that portfolios and accounts receive the expertise and care they deserve.
Develops marketing content for Homestead Advisers and Homestead Funds clients, including individual/retail investors, Electric Co-ops, and Institutional/Intermediary investment platforms, to provide compelling marketing materials that communicate Homestead Advisers and Funds’ value proposition and service offerings. Works across print, digital and video content creation channels to distill meaningful messages to target audiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates financial services marketing content in print, video, and digital formats for audiences including: individual investors and retail marketing, electric co-ops, and institutional/Intermediary investors.
- Leads marketing efforts for the quarterly Horizons shareholder newsletter aimed at the retail marketing audience.
- Creates email campaign content and new adviser programs targeting retail individual investors, shareholders and prospects, working with the client services team to develop a calendar of emails around monthly themes.
- Creates video content about emergent hot topics in financial services. Identifies opportunities for new content and develops format, story and deliverables with guidance from the Homestead Funds leadership.
- Conceptualizes, scripts and helps create multimedia content (slideshows, infographics, videos, etc.) while ensuring that content is optimized for search engines and complies with compliance, technical and editorial standards.
- Writes and edits short-format content deliverables through production, supplying Electric Co-Ops of South Carolina, Straight Talk, NRECA Now, RE Magazine and other publications in the cooperative network.
- Works with the Sales and Deferred Comp teams, developing and producing a calendar of regular email content, following up in ideas for new slides, website ideas and collateral materials in support of co-op programs including deferred comp offerings, employee retention programs, and other Homestead Adviser offerings.
- Works proactively to generate marketing ideas for buyers in the co-op space and collect feedback and refinement from the sales and deferred comp teams.
- Creates content related to Institutional/Intermediary Marketing for sophisticated investors, including print, digital and video content, supporting investments team concepts and Intermediary buyers.

Qualifications
Formal Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related field.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- 5 or more years of experience in digital marketing, journalism, content creation or related field.
- Experience in financial services marketing or financial services industry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (as demonstrated by prior work experience):
- Knowledge of content creation, including digital and print content.
- Knowledge of investments, markets, securities, and intermediary buyer channels preferred.
- Strong writing, editing and content creation skills.
- Ability to distill complex information into impactful writing for various audiences.
- Ability to use technology platforms, including leveraging functions that may be outside the standard use of a software platform.
- Ability to focus, manage multiple deadlines and deliverables and move creative content forward.
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, fax machine or other job-related equipment.
- Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive and respectful.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Requiresclose visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
