What exactly will you be doing?

As the Senior Procurement Manager, you will lead our procurement function, aligning activities with organisational goals while ensuring transparency, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships and drive compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Your role will be pivotal in professionalising our procurement processes and balancing strategic vision with operational excellence. This role sits with the Performance and Transformation portfolio and reports into Finance Director.

About the Department

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is a major government department, at the heart of the justice system. Responsible for courts, prisons, and probation services, we work to ensure sentences are served and offenders are given rehabilitation opportunities to become law-abiding citizens.

The MoJ has one of the largest and most complex spend profiles in central government. The Commercial and Contract Management Directorate (CCMD) is responsible for coordinating procurement and contract management across the MoJ, its agencies and non-departmental public bodies.

The MoJ spends £6.7bn a year and manages over 1,000 active contracts, all of which are sourced and managed by CCMD. CCMD’s Rehabilitation Services in Community Commercial Team leads the end-to-end strategy, sourcing, and management of the current and future probation services. The probation system supports more than 243,000 a year in their journey to rehabilitation, so no day looks quite like the other and we're always ready to be responsive to an emerging need. The team is split into two areas: Probation Business Partnering & Contract Management (BAU) and Probation Sourcing. The Senior Individual Giving Manager (SIGM) plays a vital role in the Development department during an exciting time in our theatre's history. This role leads on planning and delivery for the Donmar's membership scheme as well as Major Donors up to £10,000.

The Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme is set to be the UK’s biggest and most complex ever renovation programme. Join the programme’s Delivery Authority as a Procurement Manager and you could soon be playing a vital role while delivering value, both for the programme, and the taxpayer.



In procuring a variety of contracts in a timely and legally compliant manner, you’ll be responsible for delivering those contracts, from scope identification to early market engagement, to procurement, to contract execution. What’s more, you have proven technical knowledge of major programme procurement activities and approaches, including an understanding of procurement and contractual risk and mitigation, as well as legal constraints such as the UK Public Contracts Regulations. 



Supply chain knowledge and experience of services, corporate and works contracts for the delivery of major refurbishment and heritage projects is also required, as is the ability to grasp the environment and dynamics in which the Delivery Authority and Parliament operates. Someone who works well under pressure, you have strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, are great at prioritising multiple activities to meet deadlines and can bring a constructive ‘can do’ attitude. The Role

The key function of this role is the management of projects for the convenience food retail business from inception to completion.

Key accountabilities will include:

Our Ideal Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will have:

· A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in project management ideally in the food retail sector, but experience in other sectors would be considered.

· An appropriate knowledge of health and safety legislation, a Health and Safety qualification would be desirable.

· A demonstrable track record of managing projects in live environment.

The role requires an ability to run projects from inception to completion and so the following skills are essential:

The Restoration and Renewal Programme is carrying out the tens of thousands of hours of complex building surveys and investigations needed to inform future decisions on the restoration work needed.

The Senior Contracts and Procurement Manager is responsible for all Data & Digital contract & procurement delivery within the Delivery Authority this includes owning, setting and delivering against procurement strategies, procurement and contract management plans.

Additionally, the post holder will act as a business relationship partner at senior levels within Data and Digital on behalf of the Commercial function. Building relationships with senior leaders in Data and Digital they will act as an advisor on procurement and commercial issues, point of escalation for issues and risks, ensuring that their categories are benefitting from these insights as needed (e.g. through effective pipeline building).

They will work to procure the digital contracts required by the Delivery Authority in a timely and legally compliant manner, whilst also delivering value for the Programme and the taxpayer. The postholder will use their expert knowledge of the digital and ICT market to inform and advise the Data and Digital team, and to collaboratively identify best value contract strategies. The postholder will also be responsible for the end-to-end procurement delivery of the required contracts, from scope identification to early market engagement, to procurement, to contract execution plan.


Salary circa £75,000 per annum

This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.

The role
As a Sub Contract Procurement Lead you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will be a key member MEHA Partner Procurement Team and report into the Procurement Lead.

Day-to-day, you'll :

• Ensure compliance with MEHA procurement and nuclear safety processes and engage regularly with internal key stakeholders.
• Lead MEHA partner company subcontract procurements and liaise with Construction team to understand their upcoming requirements and to develop and maintain the MEHA Partner Tender Event Schedule (TES).
• Raise Subcontracts in accordance with MEHA Partner governance requirements, to meet NNB HPC Project and business objectives.
• Identify procurement scope gaps and propose and implement mitigation measures as well as completing reporting for MEHA management highlighting successes, blockers, mitigations, and forecast work.
• Support with production of procurement strategies, selection of tenderers, drafting and issue of Invitation to Tender documents, leading the cross functional team through the tender assessment process, writing and presentation of tender recommendation reports, complete subcontract award governance
• Support to post-award subcontract management, contract administration and supplier performance management.
• Support with the production of common Forms of Contract (NEC & bespoke Subcontracts) within the power construction industry and / or a major projects and programme environment

The Sub Contract Procurement Lead position is full time role working 37 hours per week and is fully remote, with some occasional travel to site.

• Extensive experience of working with NEC Contract
