Operations Team Lead

The successful candidate will ensures that we accurately and efficiently deliver in full and on time on all client orders including all Big Box & Retail orders, Café & Gift Orders, Distributors and custom printing orders by leading the Assembly people function.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the full time and casual workforce and ensure daily fulfillment targets are achieved for picking and packing of customer orders within the Wholesale function. 
• Liaise with Inventory and Wholesale sales teams to manage sales, inventory and fulfillment requirements.
• Lead by example, mentor staff and provide active frontline management with pick and pack team members to ensure they are motivated, trained and competent to perform assigned tasks.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders.
• Ensure all packing and deliveries are in line with customer requirements, particularly Big Box Retailers.
• Implement all OHS requirements, L&D initiatives and process improvement initiatives and provide a safe working environment by ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to by staff.
• Act as the escalation point for any Team Member, supplier, head office sales and/or customer service queries as they relate to Wholesale.
• Stock cycle counting.
• Support with rostering and payroll duties for the wholesales team.
• Champion end to end operational excellence during assigned shifts.
• Drive process improvement and throughput through leadership on the operations floor.
• Be available to support weekend shifts during peak trading periods.
• Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested.

THE BUSINESS

Candidates are requested to work 8am to 4pm dayshift and 8pm to 6am nightshift, Monday to Friday each week and 1 in every 4 Saturdays. These shifts will change to a rotation so you must be flexible.

The post holder will be expected to be a key member of the Materials management team especially concerning clinical stock and placing weekly orders as part of the Materials management methodology as well as other duties such as annual stock takes and inventory management implementation. Managing the Procurement Category Team members. Assigning procurement projects to team members, managing workload and planning within the team. Manging data in relation to Contracts, workplans, spend information and recording savings and added value. Undertaking Procurement activities at a complex level, in accordance with the Trusts Procurement workplan, in accordance with Trust Corporate Governance and Public Sector Procurement regulations. Providing professional advice and guidance to Trust Directors, Managers, and clinical and non-clinical staff across the organisation. Job Purpose To lead the Capital (medical) team in the establishment and/or enhancement of robust relationships across the Trust, to drive productive collaboration between the Stakeholders and the procurement function in the effective forward planning of Capital procurement. Managing the Supplies Departments Medical Capital and Maintenance Teams. Responsible for ensuring that bespoke contracts for Capital equipment required by the Trust are competitively tendered and awarded in accordance with Trust Corporate Governance and Public procurement legislative regulations; that such contracts are established, managed, reviewed and renewed in a professional, effective efficient and timely manner and provide optimum value for money. Responsible for ensuring that all capital (>£5K) goods and services required by the Trust are procured in an effective, efficient and timely manner and in accordance with Trust Corporate Governance and Public Sector procurement regulations, providing optimum value for money. Responsible for ensuring that the Trust utilises where appropriate, national contracts established by NHS Supply Chain, Crown Commercial Services, the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative or other public sector collaborative procurement organisations where such arrangements provide benefit to the Trust; facilitating communication between the Trusts internal customers of goods /services covered by such contracts and those formulating them. Responsible for ensuring that goods surplus to the Trusts requirements and with a resale value are offered for sale in accordance with Trust Corporate Governance and appropriate NHS guidance. Responsible for ensuring that maintenance contracts are put and kept in place, where appropriate, for equipment purchased by the Supplies Department and for such arrangements delivering optimum value for money. Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate.The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first months pay.
