Role purpose

Associate Consultants are responsible for conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) collection and analysis to support complex client engagements. They will work on investigative due diligence, threat analysis, forensic investigation projects, as well as problem solving and strategic intelligence matters to support clients' M&A activity, market entry, dispute resolution efforts and others. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and inquisitive individual with a solid understanding of Australia’s business and political environment.

Role tasks and responsibilities

Intelligence collection, research and analysis

• Conduct OSINT, social media intelligence (SOCMINT), public record research and human intelligence to produce high-quality analysis that addresses clients’ key questions.
• Research new sources of information and develop capabilities to collect and analyse information in support of consulting engagements.
• Provide guidance to Consultants on the availability and cost of public record information and advise on the optimum research approach, including social media research.

Consulting responsibilities

• Work closely with Consultants to produce high-quality, client-ready reports (typically 10-30 pages in length) that help clients to make decisions.
• Ensure that all reports are delivered according to agreed deadlines and within budget.

Marketing and business development

• Conduct research and prepare material (e.g. client or sector briefs) to support marketing and business development activities.

The individual will ensure the delivery of commercial, administrative and world class operational support and competence. Based in our New Delhi office, this is a regional role with a focus on South Asia.

Operational Management:

• Lead in the day-to-day management of embedded consultants and client requirements across South Asia, including project administration and business operations

Control Risks is seeking a Researcher to join its growing Online Threat Intelligence team, based in Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly capable team of threat intelligence experts and conduct research on open sources and deep and dark web venues and produce bespoke written analysis.

Responsibilities:

Research and production

• Conduct manual and automated searches to identify threats against our clients and assess their credibility.

Working as part of a dedicated team, this role will be embedded within a leading tech sector client and will provide holistic Business Continuity services including proactive consultation, guidance, and direct support to corporate and other stakeholders as required.

Responsibilities will involve:

• Executing the BC strategy as developed by the Head of Corporate BC and Regional BC managers.

Support Control Risks India office’s business and finance teams by providing exceptional administrative and operational support to local stakeholders.

• Assist with preparing client documents for projects and coordinate with regional Legal counsel as needed to ensure clients provide their purchase orders in a timely manner
• Liaise with project managers to obtain signed proposals/letters of engagement and coordinate with other offices if needed to define the project structure

Control Risks has an opportunity available for an experienced Security Operations Manager to work on-site with our client, a large Sydney-based institution, on an interim basis for 3 months beginning in January 2024. There is some potential for this role to extend further.

The Security Operations Manager will have a broad remit with responsbility for managing the day-to-day security operations, including incident response, crime prevention, operations centre management, risk assessments, operational plans for events, parking and traffic management, security advice and briefings, contractor management, safety and compliance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

The Security Operations Manager reports to the Senior Manager, Security Operations and has four direct reports.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

• Support the Senior Manager, Security Operations in managing the contracted guarding services
• Oversee the Security Operations Centre, Concierge and Security Office functions to ensure compliance with protocols and procedures and that supporting systems are functioning as required.
• Respond to security and emergency related incidents as required to coordinate and provide specialist security advice on response strategies.
• Develop regular exercises in conjunction with the Emergency Management Team.
• Develop strong stakeholder relationships with key stakeholders that security work with on an ongoing basis.
