As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR-TITLE 32, WG-5801-11, you will inspect a large variety of heavy-duty mobile equipment and automotive vehicles. Inspect heavy artillery, small arms, powered support and other equipment or components of equal or lesser complexity. Assist higher-graded inspectors to perform inspections on equipment repairs. Inspect complex, interrelated mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical systems, equipment and their components while in operation or in a standby condition. Inspect and perform tests to braking, steering, large engines, intricate fuel injection systems, turret stabilization systems, and other systems combined in a single, complex mechanical assembly. Use specially designed testing methods and test equipment to assure that tolerance and safety factors have been met. Inspect equipment to determine repairs needed. Utilize established Maintenance Expenditure Limits (MEL) to evaluate economic feasibility of repair(s). Consider a variety of factors such as cost and availability of parts, man-hours, and impact of time constraints on the mission to assess whether repair is economical. Recommend to a higher echelon to condemn equipment when the repair costs exceed the established MEL. Prepare lists of needed repairs, parts, and man-hours authorized. Perform in-process inspections to assure that equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. Perform final inspection, certifying that equipment is in satisfactory operating condition, or reject the work and return the equipment to the repair shop with specific reports prescribing additional repairs. Serve as inspector on Command Maintenance Evaluation Teams (COMET) and/or as a member of Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Teams (MAIT). Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ensure that regulated establishments produce a safe product by executing appropriate inspection methods, determining non-compliance with regulatory requirements, documenting noncompliance and initiating enforcement action, where warranted.
• Verify that meat and poultry slaughter and/or processing establishment's Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plans meet regulatory requirements.

Monitor control and generate Key Performance Indicators on the repair loop quality and performance. Update and KPI the repair reports database. Implement and maintain a closer link between the train performance and the repaired materials. Control that the outgoing materials have a clear failure description attached and a serial number. Control and challenge the suppliers on the quality of the repair reports that they provide and ensure that the scope of the repairs meet the required needs. Monitor and flag endangering consumption trends. Quarantine and return to good stock materials based on work orders data and data generated by the trains (i.e. defect codes). Analyze and close non conformance of materials previously repaired. Schedule on-train testing of parts if required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Pro-actively facilitate the development of Quality Systems to provide consistent inspection and testing to meet company standards of good sound visual quality and functional reliability.
• This role will support both internal and external quality processes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field required although consideration will be given to individuals with commensurate marine experience

• Must be willing to complete additional advanced education/training courses as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• At least 3-5 years in a Quality or Manufacturing Engineering position required. Preferred time spent working in the marine industry.
• Hold a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or ability to acquire.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification (or equivalent) or ability to acquire.
• Must have working knowledge of CAR methodology, computer literate, root cause analysis, be able to apply inspection data for process control, process capability assessment, ISO quality systems, and SPC.

Summary of Position: This 3rd shift position works with the V6/V8/V10 outboard assembly product lines and reports to the Quality Engineering Manager.  The main role of this position will be to maintain quality assurance procedures, practices, and standard evaluation methods, that will ensure product quality and integrity, and will minimize process variation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work individually or collaboratively to reduce manufacturing process or product variation, using laboratory instruments and equipment, along with root cause corrective action methods
• Lead or assist in formal problem-solving projects including completion of corrective action requests
• Look up engineering drawings on computers, read and understand tolerances and key product features
• Perform basic dimensional inspections of parts utilizing calipers, micrometers, and other hand-held gauges
• Recommend design changes or improvements in production methods through FMEA or other methods as appropriate
• Work with engineers, technicians, and operators to assist with training as required
• Support manufacturing's non-conforming material process as required, and identify scrap reduction opportunities
• Organize and assist in resolving quality spills, including part sorts, containment activities, and creating quality alerts
• Create visual aids to support operator instructions
• Perform internal process, product, and ISO audits as directed, to ensure assembly conformance to requirements
• Contribute to deviations, FMEAs, and other quality documents in the quality management system
• Clearly communicate quality standards on the production line and in toolbox meetings
• Clearly communicate quality concerns immediately to managers, supervisors, process techs, and operators
• Document quality issues through shift notes and hand off meetings
• Commitment to health and safety (both in the office, laboratory, and in the plant)

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

• Possess a mechanical aptitude with the ability to reason through problems and suggest workable solutions
• Must be detail oriented, with the ability to pay very close attention to specifications
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and basic statistics
• Proficient knowledge of PC software including Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Working knowledge of pertinent manufacturing assembly techniques

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Associate degree or equivalent post high school combination of experience and relevant technical training
• Three or more years of experience with complex assembly operations in a manufacturing setting

Preferred Certifications:

• ASQ – Certified Quality Auditor, Quality Inspector, or Quality Technician is desired
• LSS Green Belt Certification desired

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, science, or related field
• Demonstrated history of problem-solving skills and root cause analysis
• Ability to conduct mathematical calculations of moderate complexity

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the daily management of all activities of the FSQA department to include food safety programs specification adherence and product quality for products within their assigned facility. In addition, the FSQA Manager will oversee all special projects as assigned, departmental budgets, turnover and safety. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Daily oversight of production practices including raw material receiving requirements; pre-operational and operational sanitation; finished product quality and Food Safety Systems; ensuring all Tyson FSQA policies and procedures are followed

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in food safety, animal science, natural science, or a related technical field, or equivalent job experience essential to the role.

Experience: 5+ years of industry experience, with 8+ years preferred. Experience with USDA regulated products is preferred, and SAP experience is a plus.

Computer Skills: Proficient in standard computer skills, including spreadsheet generation and template development for effective communication with plant management, corporate FSQA, sales, and operations.

Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to correspond effectively with team members at all levels, from the production line to corporate management.

Special Skills: Strong problem identification and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with various facets within the organization and serving as the plant liaison to USDA. HACCP Certified, GFSI Certified, and PCQI Certified are preferred.

Supervisory Skills: 2+ years of direct supervisory experience, with 5+ years preferred.

Travel: Occasional travel, approximately 2-5 trips per year.

Cyber Security Assurance Manager

We have a brand new role for a Cyber Assurance Manager to join our growing Cyber Competency Centre, providing Thales UK business units with Cyber Security expertise.

Reporting to the UK Head of Cyber and the assigned domain Technical Director for the assurance of through-life cybersecurity engineering activities relating to products and solutions within the domain:

Key responsibilities:

• Participating in key technical reviews for all bids and projects within the scope of their assignment.
• Verifying that cybersecurity risks have been identified, assessed and managed within bids and projects in agreement with the delegated authorities for engineering security risk approval in Thales UK.
• Reviewing the principle security artefacts and security deliverables (as defined within the Cybersecurity Management Plan) and advising the security practitioners on the artefact’s completeness and fitness for purpose.
• Maintaining sector based specific knowledge in their area of responsibility.
   
• Overseeing the continued (cyber) assurance activities of products and solutions within the scope of their assignment. This should include all relevant phases of DDQS and in-service assurance.
• Articulating the cybersecurity risks of products and solutions, and the assessment of potential/proposed risk management options.
• Supporting the cybersecurity assurance aspects of product policy and road mapping

This role combines the Design Quality Assurance and the Product Center Manager role. In your role as Design Quality Assurance Expert (m/f/d) you will be working as a part of product development team on new product development or on design changes to ensure product quality and reliability, minimize risk to users and patients. Your profile

POSITION SUMMARY

The position is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured meet or exceed quality standards as well as all safety, environmental and ISO requirements. Implement continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing and QC environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -

Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. 

1.   QC Lab and Process Management (80%):

• Knowledge of work instructions, procedures, and calibration of QC instrumentation referenced in the LATICRETE Quality Control Manual.
• Ensures all lab testing results are filed all the Quality Control test data and enter pertinent information (CofAs) into the computer database (JDE).
• Ensure QC testing samples are obtained according to the Quality Requirements testing Level (Work Instruction 9.1.36) and maintain a storage system for retained samples. 
• Monitors the execution of (G)ood (L)aboratory (P)ractices.
• Responsible for the entry of test results in the QC tracking system and the crosscheck of records.
• Has basic knowledge of 5S and can assist in training  new employees
• Orders supplies for the QC lab and ensures the QC data-up system is maintained and updated daily. 
• Assists in communications with production personnel to provide a smooth, efficient production flow of quality products, as needed.
• Ensures all QC instruments meet calibration requirements listed in the calibration work instructions.
• Works with team members to identify improved methods of QC analysis and/or new QC lab equipment to improve lab efficiencies.
• Ensure that all CoA's, MSDS, Calibration/Verification, meet ISO 9001 traceability.
• Complete and distribute all forms in accordance with the work instructions in the Q.C. Manual.
• Write a daily report of all QC testing performed on products received in the QC lab using the appropriate communication database or electronic format.
• Supports the root cause analysis investigation of nonconforming product
• Test and report on all Field Test complaints filed by technical services.
• Has the ability to provide improvements for QC lab workflow, testing, and other QC related activities
•  Compare all C of A’s against the Master C of A to determine acceptance or rejection and enter all pertinent data into the computer system

 Data Collection and Data Analysis (20%): 

• Demonstrates problem solver abilities, while communicating with superiors with appropriate solutions in a timely and efficient manner.
• Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook; and ability to present technical data to QC team, business leaders and others as needed.
