Responsible for tactical, strategic. and administrative support of multiple program areas such as training, quality control, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures. plans and programs, operational automation, military operations. special and security operations, safety management system, safety reporting and other areas of specialty identified collaboratively at the local level.

The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the ATC field and familiarization with the many integral components of the industry which comprise the National Airspace System. Specialists must have the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis. evaluation and development of new methods, studies, approaches, and procedures. The Staff Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience. While not required, hardware/software experience is desirable. Some travel will be required.

For the assigned Facility/Duty Location:

Depending upon facility structure, reports to an assigned MSS-2, 3 or 4, who provides administrative direction for facility assignments, in terms of broadly defined missions or functions within areas of specialties. The incumbent is responsible for planning, designing and completing work assignments independently. Results of the work are technically authoritative and are normally accepted without change. Work is evaluated in terms of results achieved and effectiveness in assigned program areas.

Directs a highly technical workforce that provides either air traffic control services and/or tactical and strategic support. The work impacts the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to day operations of the facility. Work typically impacts the safe, orderly, and expeditious movement of aircraft as well as the efficient operation of segments of the aviation industry.

Provides training, coaching and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building throughout area(s) of responsibility.

Integrates support resources with operational needs to maintain effective air traffic control service, and may work other than administrative shifts to meet this requirement. Using measures of organizational performance, continuously reviews work processes to assure that results meet the agency's mission and the customer's needs, adds value to facility services, and are efficiently achieved.

Major duties of the Supervisory Health System Specialist (Corporate Compliance Officer) include:

• Responsible for the initiation and completion of administrative investigations and fact-findings as approved by the Health Care System Director.
• Directing, developing, implementing, and overseeing a multi-disciplinary, health-care-system-wide Compliance Section within the scope of the VHA mandated Privacy Program, Records Information Management Program, Conflict of Interest, and Compliance & Business Integrity (CBI) Program (which includes auditing, monitoring and creation of corrective action plan activities in the areas of coding, documentation, purchased care, exclusionary lists, conflict of interest, accuracy of patient registration, etc.), Controlled Substance Program, VHA policy related to Administrative Investigative Boards, VHA policy related to Access, and VISN equivalent of each of these programs.

A Cabin Safety Inspector duties involve developing, administering, or enforcing regulations and standards concerning cabin safety policy and operations, including safety aspects of aviation facilities, equipment, and procedures. Aviation Safety Inspectors apply a broad knowledge of the aviation industry, the general principle of aviation safety and the Federal laws, regulations and policies affecting aviation.

Responsible for the total airworthiness of Aero Club aircraft. Plans, organizes and directs task as required. Assures task are completed within the require time frames and reviews the work of aircraft mechanics to ensure completion. Troubleshoots and determines when the nature and scope of repair can be handled personally or should involve other mechanics; and coordinates their work as necessary. Serves as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and hydralic repairs to Aero Club aircraft. As necessary, grounds the aircraft when the severity of a malfunction warrants, and may be responsible for releasing the aircraft to service after repairs are completed.Performs aircraft inspections including pre-flight, post-flight, phase, and other scheduled and unscheduled inspections. Tests and checks or oversees such actions by others, with test equipment and standards. Responsible for conducting the continued planning, re-planning and problem resolution to establish, execute, and maintain an effective long-term CONR data link architecture and OPTASKLINK in the face of technology change, increasing amount of data link assets, and increasingly complex operational interoperability issues. Responsible to maintain an understanding of the various weapon systems' data link capabilities and limiting factors with regards to protocols, bandwidth, and message implementation. Responsible to maintain functional knowledge of AOC command and control (C2) equipment in the nee cell and HCC equipment room. This includes operations, test and training with regards to appropriate message filters, network data load, crypto, assigned frequency, and network timing. Responsible to act as the watch officer responsible for the daily operation of the nee and for providing an accurate single integrated air picture (SIAP) to all network participants in and around the CONUS to maintainairspace control and safety of flight for operational and training assets. Authorizes and directs real-time changes to OPTASKLINK parameters to include data load, crypto, frequency, time slots, or network timing to trouble shoot and deconflict multi-TDL operations, test and training across the area of operation. As a Theater Aerospace Operations Command and Control Officer, GS-2101-12, you will administer refresher and advanced training to ANG military AOC weapons systems positional specialists. Instructs rated pilots, navigators, air battle managers, space operations specialists, and other AOC assigned personnel in advanced aerospace operations applications using current AOC systems of record. Instructs and evaluates all AOC specialists to become instructors. Instructs such personnel to function within established joint doctrinal principles to plan and prosecute theater-level joint operations.
