The Role - Fabrication Inspector:

• Checking the dimensions of daily structural production work to ensure full adherence to standards and project specifications
• Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
• Mark up as required for adjustment
• Inspect incoming materials for composition and dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect fabricated items before welding.
• Confirm any required fabrication errors have been adjusted and sign off before welding commences.
• Perform relevant checks to confirm tolerances in line with the contract specifications.
• Assist with the production, completion, and collation of relevant verification documentation

The role:
Working as part of a wider team of QA Auditors and reporting directly in to our Quality Assurance Supervisors, you will play a key role in ensuring that our Wigan site continues to meet all quality and technical standards set nationally and by our grocery retailer partners.

As one of our QA Auditors, you will audit, monitor, improve and evaluate quality systems and procedures and provide technical support for the operational teams as well as maintaining and promoting technical and quality standards in line with business needs and customer requirements will be a key focus.

In this position you will work on a permanent day shift which will include some weekend working as set by the rota.

About You:
Ideally you will have some professional experience within a similar Technical/QA role in a food environment but skills can be taught and if you have the enthusiasm and drive to develop within quality assurance this is an excellent first role.

Understanding the chain of custody within the food environment and a background of working on small to mid-sized quality improvement projects, such as implementing new procedures and defining new supporting documentation
- will be key.
You will be an excellent communicator who can work alone with a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving.

Act as a member of the Infection Prevention and Control Team to provide advice to clinical and non-clinical staff in all matters relating to prevention, surveillance and control of infection working both proactively and re-actively with senior members. Critically appraise current practices and support the introduction of new practices in accordance wit research evidence findings as appropriate. Support studies and trails of new techniques and equipment, collating and evaluating results and acting on findings. Participate in the updating of policies/protocols as and when necessary, in conjunction with the Senior Infection Prevention and Control Team. provide advice relating to the planning and upgrading of facilities as required within the Trust to ensure that equipment purchased and building work meets Infection Prevention and Control requirements/National Guidance. With support and guidance from the wider Team, provide Specialist Infection Prevention and Control clinical advice as part of the preparation of tender specifications for relevant services. Maintain records of the incidence of infection, feeding back to clinical teams and monitoring for signs of outbreaks/cross infection. Work with matrons and other nurses to improve and maintain standards of cleanliness within the hospital environment and participate in cleanliness audits and inspections. Responsible clinically for acting autonomously, making decisions in line with IPC policies and keeping accurate records.
