Fairfield High School is seeking to employ, on a permanent basis, a Science Technician for 37 hours per week, term time only plus 7 additional days. Part time hours can be considered if requested. We welcome applications for specialists, or those with a commitment to develop in Science. You will work in close liaison with teachers and other technicians and assist in the day-to-day preparation of teaching resources and maintenance of equipment. You will join a team of technicians and the successful candidate will be logical, have good time management and be able to use their own initiative and work alone at times.
Hours of work will be 8.00am – 4.00pm Mondays to Thursdays, 8.00am - 3.30pm Fridays (inclusive of a 30 minute unpaid lunch break) . Actual salary based on points 7 – 9, will be £21,110 - £21,827 (full time equivalent of £24,294 - £25,119).

Key responsibilities of the role are:
Ensuring that best practices are in place within the science technician team to fully support science lessons

To work with colleagues in the science department to create, develop and maintain health and safety records, including risk assessments, COSHH information, practical procedures and records of safety checks
To participate in internal and external training as required
To be the line manager for the Science Technicians
