Science Teacher - Large Secondary School - East Grinstead - January start

Salary: £30,000.00 -£45,000(M1-UPS2)

Hours: 40 hours a week, Term Time Only

We are supporting a secondary school that is based in a leafy part of East Sussex. The school facilities include multi use sports areas, large grounds, and a forestry school.

The main purpose of the role:

As their Science Teacher, you will deliver high quality teaching and learning to young people in KS3 , 4 and 5. The focus is on increasing academic and vocational qualifications and knowledge, whilst achieving independent living skills that will equip young people for the next stage in their lives, be that further education, training or work.

The science qualifications this school deliver are GCSE, A level and BTEC Firsts in Applied Science and Application of Science, so previous experience and knowledge on these syllabuses would be desirable.

Key duties:

• Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Maintain and use short, medium and long term plans in delivering the curriculum.
• Set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
• Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
• Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
• Assist in the development of the curriculum offer.

Duties will vary, you must expect to diversify and lend a hand wherever is required.
