Airbus Robotics is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Research and Development department based in Mukilteo, WA.

You will be part of a team working in the field of robotics and automation. You will dream up, design, and create solutions to aerospace's toughest problems.

Salary range based on the required profile: $135,000-$174,000/year.

Your challenges:
- Design, Prototype, and Test
- Develop medium and high-level software in a mixed computing environment with an emphasis on three arenas: 1) full stack development 2) security and access control, and 3) data management.
- Assist in the design process of new systems and architectures and inform the development of better programming practices and procedures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues that may cross over into other domains including the embedded Linux supervisory software, external software modules, IT, networking, custom and standard communication protocols, PLC systems and electrical.
- Performs hands-on work as needed including operation of physical or virtual robotic systems primarily for software development and testing.
- Project Leadership
- Manages outside projects and or teams when necessary. Engages with the outside world in areas relevant to the company; leverages existing capabilities of outside firms, experts, and institutions to the project's advantage.
- People Development
- Interface with and manage contract software engineering teams or individuals. Ability to work with people across multiple time zones and cultural backgrounds.
Your boarding pass:
- Seven or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree. Five or more years of experience with a master’s degree. Three or more years of experience with a PhD.
- The ability to work independently to achieve required goals with minimal oversight and provide accurate estimates of work effort to accomplish a well-defined task.
- Comfortable working hands-on in a lab environment.
- Full stack development experience working with both browser and server.
- UI framework experience, for example Material UI, Next.js, D3
- Strong usability design sense for UI screens or Web APIs. Experience in UI/UX design best practices is also desired
- Scripting experience: python, shell is also desired
- Experience in some or all of the following protocols: HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, REST APIs, Websockets, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS-232, RS-485.
- The ability to understand, develop, and debug high-level software routines as well as system-wide software architectures.
- Experience on projects involving physical hardware systems and various types of users
- Working knowledge of the following platforms: Windows desktop and Linux embedded products. Cloud experience is an asset.
- Proficient in reading/interpreting JSON and XML
- Experience with source configuration management tools (git).
- The interpersonal skills and knowledge to work within an engineering development team that spans multiple disciplines (electrical, software, mechanical, systems engineering).
