General Responsibilities

• Confidently manage the function's functional mailboxes in line with agreed processes / protocols ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner. This includes scrutinising emails, checking rules/processes/policies and precedents and apply these to particular circumstances to decide what action to take. Action often includes escalating the email to the responsible third-party suppliers as necessary, case managing the email and closed down the case when satisfactorily resolved.
• Manage the effective handling of official correspondence in line with agreed processes / protocols, including drafting responses for senior managers and case management of communications and queries until resolved.
• Coordination of meetings between various internal and external stakeholders, including management of electronic calendar invitations and providing support during meetings by taking minutes and updating Action Logs and other meeting documentation.
• Develop and keep maintained contacts lists and distribution lists for communication activities and projects and confidently take these forward autonomously - reporting progress to senior managers.
• Develop a working knowledge of online systems related to HR related contracts and the regulations which govern them (e.g. data protection) in order to provide guidance and advice to internal stakeholders and action system based requests independently (e.g. setting user account permissions to the correct levels as defined by Senior Managers).
• Carry out project and business change coordination and support tasks and maintain registers, trackers and associated documentation.
• Prepare and monitor the associated cost centre's budget on the manager's behalf.

The successful candidate will work on the design and synthesis of composite materials for carbon capture applications. The research assistant should have experience in composite material synthesis and fabrication using solution chemistry methods. • Align with other Purina R&D sites and Zone Application Groups as needed.
• Practice safety in the work area. Engage in and execute the safety practices of the organization.
• Proven ability and willingness to mentor and guide the less experienced technical staff
• Develop Nestle Purina’s core competence in all areas of product development
• Possess a recognized expertise and keep current in technical disciplines
• Propose projects utilizing technical innovations that may be applicable to Nestlé Purina business strategy
• Understanding the needs of the markets and operations, generating new innovative product and process ideas
• Continue development of project leadership skills. Engage in networking with key stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with vendors and counterparts at other Nestlé operations by encouraging frequent informal communication
• Training of personnel from regional business units and within the R&D Network as required
• Travel as necessary

What will make you successful

• B.S. in Science or Engineering, MSc or PHD Food Science, Animal Science, Engineering, Nutrition preferred
• A minimum of 5 years’ R&D experience, preferably in food or pet food category
• Project Management experience in competitive and complex environment
• Must be able to manage multiple projects/priorities
• Excellent product development skills including strong ingredient knowledge and a solid understanding of nutrition and unit processes
• Good consumer understanding and stays abreast of consumer and competitor trends, experience with customer tests
• Manufacturing quality, process and lean manufacturing principles
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills, ability to influence and drive business decisions
• Proven ability to create original, differentiating technology and apply technical knowledge to meet business needs
