Director, Products & Portfolio (M/F/D)

Based in Singapore, the Director, Products & Portfolio position is a critical leadership position that reports directly to the Vice President Corporate Strategy, in the Corporate Strategy Business Unit. In this role you will collaborate extensively with leaders and all employees, mostly with our Customer Experience and Digital & Technology heads.

The Director, Products & Portfolio will be responsible for overseeing the entire Star Alliance Products Portfolio lifecycle. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, competitive landscape, business objectives aligned with the Corporate Plan and Strategy, and a strong focus on achieving a positive Return on Investment (ROI).

Job Summary

Products Portfolio Strategy and Lifecycle management:

• Support the Customer Experience heads to define individual product requirements, specifications, and features based on market needs and customer feedback, considering the financial implications of development decisions and organizational objectives, emphasizing member carrier’s adoption and end customer satisfaction.
• Lead competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation with a clear financial impact.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive product portfolio strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals.
• Oversee the entire product portfolio, emphasizing the financial impact of each product initiative. Make data-driven decisions to prioritize and allocate resources effectively across different product initiatives, with a keen eye on maximizing ROI.
• Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess the financial performance of each product and adjust the portfolio as needed.

Team Leadership and Development

• Build and lead a high-performing product team, providing mentorship and guidance to team members on understanding and optimizing ROI.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the product organization, emphasizing the financial goals of the company.

Stakeholder Communication and Financial Management

• Work closely with Customer Experience, Member Services and Marketing teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies for new products, emphasizing member carrier’s adoption.
• Communicate product portfolio strategies, roadmaps, and updates to executive leadership, stakeholders, and other relevant member carriers’ teams, highlighting the expected ROI.
• Manage the product budget, ensuring cost-effective development and maximizing ROI throughout the product lifecycle.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product success, including financial metrics, and adjust strategies as needed to meet ROI targets.

Your Profile

• A minimum of 8 years work experience in a Products Portfolio Management in a leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in product management, with a track record of successful product launches and a demonstrated ability to deliver positive ROI.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on driving financial results.
• Ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, including a deep understanding of how product strategies impact ROI.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct day-to-day L2 support of banking application software. In case any errors are detected by the bank operations department (L1 support), you are required to find the recovery solution, working together with your colleagues, the outsourcing vendor, the bank IT department, and the counterparty of the head office, if necessary. This may involve overtime work if issues arise after business hours or on weekends.
• Once the bank decides to launch a project for change request functions raised by users, or dealing with End of Life scenarios such as operating systems, database management software, and hardware, you will take on the role of project manager.
• You are expected to manage team members, multiple vendors, and service providers to complete all tasks as required and planned.
• You are expected to proceed with projects by resolving issues, controlling vendors and resources, managing schedules, and preparing reports for management, the bank, and the head office for approval if required.
• You are required to strictly comply with the Mizuho Development Policy and Procedures.
• Coordinate all processes to ensure smooth progress for the bank and developers, vendors, and the head office's relevant development team

Requirements:

• At least 3 year working experience as application software project manager or engineer in banking IT sector.

Other requirements/ skills:

• We seek chief application IT engineer who has following experience, knowledge, and skills:

1. Working experience of application project management at banking IT sector.
2. Developing experience of bank settlement application (SWIFT, GIRO and FAST etc.)

• Knowledge and experience in Java, Oracle and .net, JP1
• Knowledge and experience in HULFT, MQ, SFTP, VMware technology, or network administration will be an advantage.
• Ability to interact effectively across all levels, including the bank IT department, the bank user department, outsourcing vendors, member of head office, will help the candidate perform successfully in the role.
• Coordination skills to handle various parties, such as both local and international clients, vendors and counterparts.
• Certificate of PMP would be advantage.
• Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills in English. "
