Responsibilities

• Provide L2 support for banking application software. In the event of errors detected by the bank's operations department (L1 support), you will collaborate with the outsourcing vendor, the bank IT department, and, if necessary, the head office counterpart, working overtime as required after business hours (including late nights/early mornings), weekends, and national holidays to identify and implement recovery solutions.
• Take leadership in projects initiated by the bank, such as user-requested change requests or addressing End of Life issues concerning operating systems, database management software, and hardware.
• Oversee team members, multiple vendors, and service providers to ensure all tasks are completed according to plan.
• Manage projects by resolving issues, overseeing vendors and resources, adhering to schedules, and preparing reports for management, the bank, and the head office as needed for approval.
• Monitor and evaluate projects to ensure compliance with established guidelines and standards while strictly adhering to Mizuho's development policies and procedures.
• Utilize your knowledge and experience to communicate in-house rules and guidelines to project members while coordinating all processes to ensure smooth progress for the bank, developers, relevant teams at the head office, and vendors.
• Perform any other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

The Language and Social Cognition Lab at Singapore University of Technology and Design is seeking to hire a postdoctoral fellow to work on research projects on human-robot teaming and cognitive load modelling. The goal of the projects includes developing a human-aware task planner that facilitates effective collaboration between a human operator and a diverse team of robots for exploring complex environments, as well as optimizing task deployment using cognitive load measures and models. Our approach involves developing a computational model of the human that accounts for their intention, workload, and capabilities. The successful candidate will apply their knowledge to design, conduct, and analyze experiments that utilize eye-tracking data to investigate human behavior in human-robot interactive contexts.

Qualifications

• PhD in cognitive psychology, computational cognitive science, or a related field.
• Experience in the design and implementation of experiments using eye-tracking technology.
• Familiarity with eye-tracking platforms (e.g., Tobii) and software/package for analyzing eye-gaze behavior.
• Strong skills in statistical analysis and proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., R, MATLAB).
• Experience with machine learning or computational modeling of eye-gaze data is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience in publishing scientific papers and presenting research findings.

The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position specialising in the philosophy of science and technology. Appointments will be made on an initial three-year contract with the possibility of renewal.

We are particularly interested in applicants who can play an instrumental role in addressing questions relating to ethics in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies—both through teaching students who are pursuing engineering, computer science, and architecture majors and through interdisciplinary research collaborations with engineering, design, and computer science faculty. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a humanities-related discipline, such as philosophy or digital humanities, and have demonstrated research and teaching expertise in their field.

Besides cultivating a strong research portfolio, the successful candidate will be required to teach our undergraduate humanities core course and new electives in the candidate’s area of specialisation. Candidates who can contribute to our cluster’s digital humanities minor programme will also be viewed favourably. Other duties include working with faculty to contribute to interdisciplinary research and teaching initiatives, such as mentoring students as they work on their capstone projects or fostering collaborations with industry or public service sectors.

Research Fellow

Responsibilities:

• Survey the state of the art in urban sustainability operations and optimization;
• Mathematical modelling and problem formulation to fit practical scenarios;
• Provide optimization and operation policy to guide urban sustainability; and
• Validate the findings using simulations and real data.

Requirements:

• PhD degree in control science and engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or applied mathematics;
• Has multiple publications in good conferences/journals in AI/computer science, electrical engineering, networking, experiments, and system optimization;
• Fluent in oral and written English;
• At least 2 years of experience in doing research in optimization algorithm design and system operations using performance control, machine learning, stochastic modelling, optimization, or game theory; and
• Experience in applying mathematical modelling and optimization algorithms to large-scale urban networks.
