Role - HGV Mechanic

Service Care Solutions is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our client's team in Stalybridge, Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply and further enhance your skills in routine maintenance, testing, diagnostics, and repair work on the councils extensive fleet of HGVs, light vehicles, plant, and specialist equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on a variety of vehicles and equipment
• Conduct diagnostic tests and carry out necessary repairs
• Work alongside a team of dedicated vehicle/plant fitters
• Communicate effectively with team members and management
• Maintain a customer-focused approach to all tasks

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds (or equivalent) in a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance/Repair discipline
• Experience with HGV maintenance; candidates from light vehicle or agricultural backgrounds are also encouraged to apply
• Current driving license (LGV Category C is desirable)
• Good organisational skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8am to 3:30pm

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Apprenticeship is a 24 month programme, combining practical on-the-job training with study towards the International Freight Forwarding Level 3 apprenticeship. You will work within a successful team while learning everything you need to know whilst supported by your peers, your managers, and the apprenticeship team within Kuehne+Nagel.

The Customer Care teams are responsible for ensuring that our customers' experience is a positive one each and every time they engage with Kuehne + Nagel to arrange their shipments.

You'll be learning how to…

• Pro-actively advise and consult Customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Monitor customer shipments in order to provide proactive updates to customers and to problem solve (by collaborating with other stake-holders) in anticipation of a customer complaint
• Knowledge exchange with the sales and account management teams.
• Liaise with the operational care centres (OCC's) to ensure they have all the necessary information to be able to execute shipments on our customers behalf.
• Escalate issues which cannot be resolved to the Line manager
• Ensure compliance with company, industry and legal standards is adhered to across the function

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

• The minimum entry requirement for this apprenticeship is Five GCSEs at grades 3 - 9 / A*-D including Maths & English)
• Our company values candidates who are passionate about providing excellent customer service, have a strong work ethic, and are able to communicate effectively with others. Good planning and organization skills is important and you will need the ability to multitask and be a self-starter.
• Previous use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is beneficial.
• Please be aware that this vacancy does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship and for apprenticeship funding, candidates must have been resident in the EEA for at least the last 3 years.

Key Information:
Apprenticeship Contract: Fixed Term - 2 years
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours per day From 08:30 to 17:00
Place of work: Full time until performance expectations met & initial training completed. If approved, opportunity to work from home 2 days a week is available.

We have an excellent opportunity for a FLT Driver with Counterbalance Licence to join an established Manufacturing and Production company based in Wigan. The company specialises in design and production of Construction products and systems to the European market. These products include paints, fire protection materials, cement, sealants and more.

As a FLT Driver/Production Operative you will be responsible for the manufacturing process of high-performance construction materials and products. You will be operating the counterbalance truck for moving materials, pallets and equipment around the warehouse. You will also operate machinery such as mixers, fillers, paint spraying and palletisers/wrappers.

Duties will include;

• Operating FLT Counterbalance
• Loading, unloading and operating filling lines
• Blending and filling operation of mixers
• Operation of semi-auto and full auto packing machinery

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure full time hours Monday to Friday. You will be working a standard 38 hour week with an immediate start available.

Weekly Rotating Shifts:

Week 1: Mon - Thurs 6:00 - 14:00. Fri 6:00 - 12:00.
Week 2: Mon - Thurs 14:00 - 22:00. Fri 12:00 - 18:00.

You will need;

• Counterbalance Licence (Valid)
