Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
Manage and oversee the export department to ensure the movement of freight via ocean out of the country, in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country and international law and processes. Position requires an energetic, customer service driven candidate with continuous emphasis on bottom line results. Maintain the business flow of the Export department. Ensure all levels of compliance are met on the export process. Supervise the staff to make sure they are using all the tools available to achieve financial goals of the department. Oversee the usage of vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage and further develop efficient and effective flow of work to attain optimum efficiency and productivity of department.
- Identify the existence and cause of problems and solutions to correct them.
- Utilize reports to quantify and prioritize workload.
- Manage communication with export related authorities, customers and suppliers in all relevant countries as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities.
- Work with other departments in order to establish and maintain effective and relevant export activities and support in relation to the organizations operating functions.
- Initiates, promotes, supports and implements change in order to increase organizational effectiveness.
- Make sound decisions based on analysis, experience and good judgment.
- Ensure staff has the training and resources necessary to perform their jobs.
- Negotiate with local carriers on spot pricing; issue rate quotes.
- Responsible for TSA compliance and maintenance for the branch.
- Provides quotes for internal and external clients.
- Takes part in outside sales activities with sales or management staff.
- Maintains current records on all truckers locally; i.e. insurance certs, current tariff.
- Coordinate work activities between office staff and 3rd party warehouse.
- Delivery documents to both 3rd party warehouse and US Customs for Export department.
- Meet with SSL, ocean carriers, warehouse agents, and Truckers to review service needs.
- Handle all shipments with compliance needs.
- Maintain local pricing recorders from all carriers.
- Audit Export files for compliance and Business process.
- Audit Export files for profitability.
- Handle processing of all dangerous goods shipment for Air Export.
- Take department concerns to upper levels of management as needed.
- Keep track of service faults by 3rd party warehouse.
- Other duties as requested
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent will directly and/or indirectly supervise employees
- Conduct performance evaluations for export department staff.
- Recommend hiring, firing and promotions.
- Identify and resolve personnel issues.
- Manage staff schedules.
- Create an environment that encourages others to develop professionally.
- Will supervise directly or indirectly employees.

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
