The position will manage the front office operations for the organization and directing the activities of staff, while providing technical oversight and advice to other positions throughout AVP.

The Chief of Staff manages the work of a large, multi-level organization typically through subordinate managers. Supports the Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Director ensuring efficiency in operations senior leadership and ensuring organization operations is efficient. Acts as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing strategic counsel and helping to shape the organization's vision and goals. Provides direction to other managers throughout the service units and serves as liaison between offices internal and external to Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention (AVP).

Manages the organization's daily operations, engaging with subordinate managers and employees to identify, prevent, and resolve problems and complex aviation and technical issues, including regulatory, policy, and customer service issues. Develops and approves solutions to current and anticipated problems which cross organizational lines and disciplines. May participate in developing solutions to FAA-wide problems.

Establishes and implements administrative processes to ensure the efficient and effective operations of the front office, such as: tracking of correspondence, document review, and scheduling of meetings. Makes decisions as delegated by the Executive Director. Ensures advice on policy application is provided promptly and effectively to the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director on the application of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and current policies related to the integration of drones and emerging technologies into the National Airspace System (NAS). Facilitates communication and collaboration across different organizations branches to ensure timeliness, efficiency, and productivity to achieve leadership success. Ensures the work complies with policies and supports the accomplishment of organizational goals.

Directs the work of subordinate employees and/or managers for multiple organizational units/projects/programs and across multiple functions and/or disciplines within AVP. Serves as an essential part of the AVP Management Team, responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and methods to ensure that organizational goals are achieved. Integrates work of multiple organizations to meet strategic goals of the organization and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), participates in strategic planning for the FAA, and makes commitments (program, budget, etc.) for a major organization.

The work includes complex projects and technical programs based on the objectives of the Aviation Safety (AVS), and the FAA. Oversees the implementation of large-scale initiatives and special projects, ensuring they align with the organization's objectives. Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish objectives for multiple organizational units/projects/programs and across multiple functions and/or disciplines. Manages budget and either reallocates resources among organizational units/projects/ programs or acquires additional resources as needed. Leads and integrates the budget planning processes for assigned organizational units/projects/programs, and projects both short-term and long-term future needs. Participates in planning efforts that cross organizational lines within AVP and AVS.

The incumbent is responsible for providing direct advice and counsel to the FAA executive cadre (Assistant Administrator, Executive Directors, International Regional directors, and the Regional Administrators for all of FAA's nine regional offices) and supervisors who manage over 300 authorized positions; developing workforce plans; coordinating agency-wide policies, strategic analysis, and programs to accomplish APL and agency-wide aviation policy objectives.

Directs the work of subordinate employees for multiple programs and across multiple functions and/or disciplines within APL. Plans work to be performed by team members and assigns projects and tasks to team members. Gives advice, counsel, and instruction to team members on work assignments and meeting customer service standards. Manages the day-to-day performance of team members. Managerial duties include strategic planning, communicating the organization's vision and objectives; setting priorities; assigning tasks and responsibilities; monitoring and evaluating the performance of organizational units, managers, and employees; coaching and developing staff and organizational capabilities; approving leave; and taking or approving corrective or disciplinary actions as appropriate. Fosters a diverse, collaborative, and mutually supportive working environment.

Manages a wide range of staffing duties and functions in developing, implementing, and administering the staffing activities necessary to properly execute the organization's workforce plan and achieve management goals and objectives. Interprets agency human resource policy and implements procedures to ensure compliance across the APL organization.

Leads the execution of the organization's workforce plan. Formulates APL staffing plans and works with individual offices to develop strategies to address future workforce needs. Performs analytical, forecasting and interpretive functions associated with the management and control of resources or positions. Tracks and controls staffing for special programs.

Analyzes the workforce to predict potential workforce issues and proposes preventive actions to prepare for future staffing needs. Conducts studies of workforce attrition to develop metrics used to measure employee attrition rate and to identify anticipated vacancies; works with management to resolve attrition issues.

Coordinates, oversees, and manages the APL performance management programs. Provides effective performance management oversight and support to ensure compliance with regulations. Evaluates and provides guidance to management on performance management policies and procedures.

Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge to provide all organizational elements within APL, management advice, counsel, and assistance concerning goals, objectives, and activities connected with APL operations, administrative functions, and program/position management. Performs continuous review and analysis of existing human resource programs, procedures, and practices to determine if new or revised policies or actions are necessary by changing domestic or international requirements. Takes or recommends appropriate actions.

Performs analysis of new or proposed regulations to determine impact on, and applicability to FAA employees serving at or returning from posts in foreign areas. Advises all agency elements regarding current allowances prescribed in foreign countries and international organizations. Coordinates and/or proposes to State Department changes, as required, based on date generated by experience with the FAA overseas problems. Communicates APL policy positions and/or determines the necessity for either internal or FAA-wide procedures, directives, and guidelines.

Is responsible for overall effectiveness and coordination of APL staffing and performance management programs. Interfaces with Human Resource Management (AHR), other APL staff, FAA lines of business, other agencies and embassies.

As a Transportation Industry Analyst (Oversight), you will:

• Develops and prepares a wide variety of complex qualitative and quantitative oversight data reports and analyses for information sharing with FTA headquarters, regional offices and the transit industry.
• Manages the annual recipient oversight needs assessment program and development of the annual National Oversight Plan.
• Manages analysis of oversight data and review outcomes to determine findings most indicative of non-compliance risk and develop improved oversight processes using greater risk prediction.
• Prepares and delivers analysis, observations, detailed briefings, and recommendations through presentations to internal and external audiences. Delivers guidance and technical assistance to transit stakeholders and make recommendations.
• Develops and exercises a thorough working knowledge of FTA’s organization and substantive programs, program and project management, program planning and budgeting, correspondence and reporting requirements, contract management and procurement processes, and FTA administrative policies and procedures.

As the General Supply Specialist, you would assist in the planning and directing of distribution and storage activities for all property and equipment for the entire VACO Campus.

Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:

• Provides supporting data analysis for operational decisions about the distribution facility, storage space, material handling equipment, and related operating requirements; creates Warehouse layout plans.
• Assists in directing distribution, establishing deadlines, and planning work assignments.
• Monitors work in progress and take corrective action to overcome delays and bottlenecks.
• Works and communicate very closely with VACO campus administration/staff offices, Office of Administration (OA) Space and Renovation, and Resource Management and Facilities Management Service to ensure that scheduled jobs are completed promptly, safely, and efficiently as possible.
• Supports the Warehouse Team Lead in planning budget requests, staffing needs, work requests, internal controls, and processes receiving reports for accuracy, in addition to performing Data Quality Check on all inbound and outbound asset reports processed to support VACO operations.
• Assists in coordinating and assigning work to individuals and provide technical direction in accomplishing complex work steps, tasks, and processes.
• Trains staff in proper work methods and procedures IAW the SOP, use of tools and equipment, and OSHA safe practices.
• Trains the warehouse staff in the proper preparation and execution of necessary forms such as shipping and receiving documents, work schedule feedback sheets, and others.
• Updates and manages the Warehouse customer service SharePoint site to confirm all service requests are assigned, completed, and closed.
• Ensures handling containers and repacking freight and components from broken or damaged containers meets transportation guidelines.
• Performs periodic independent systems evaluations and develop recommendations for distribution system improvements based on a thorough, comprehensive study and analysis.

Temp - Perm Role!

Pay rate £15.14 per hour, £22.71 per hour after 47 hours per week. All rates are PAYE, 28 days paid holiday per year.
Nights out are paid at £40 per night out.

Manpower Driving and Logistics are currently recruiting a Class 2 (Cat C) driver for our client in the Barrrow-Upon-Humber area. The role will be multi drop Tanker work, delivering wood pellets to Commercial and domestic premises. Full training on the equipment will be given.

The role will be Monday - Friday, with a maximum 1-2 nights out per week. Some occasional Saturdays will be required in busy times. The basic hours will be 0700 - 1645 but there will also be overtime required.

This position is for an immediate start and will become permanent after a successful trial period.

The ideal candidate must have a cat C licence, drivers CPC and digital tachograph card. A good working knowledge of the Road Transport Regulations is essential along with good geographical knowledge.

For insurance purposes, you must have 2 years HGV delivery experience, should have no more than 6 points on your licence, and no DD or DR convictions in the last 10 years.
