How will you contribute?

Key Skills/ Experience Required

• Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to work unsociable hours including early mornings and during the night when required. As a result, we can only accept applicants 18 years and over
• You must have a full Driving License or be able to make your own way to and from sites using public transport.
• You must have a 'can do' attitude and be able to work long shifts where required on large counts.
• With our innovative business, the technology changes and therefore being a quick learner is a key skill required.
• Any experience of handling stock is an advantage but not a necessity.

Driver Attendant

Team: Transport

The salary for the post will be Grade 7 (£24,294 to £25,979 plus matrix pay)

Bury Council Transport department are seeking to employ a Driver/Attendant based at its Bradley Fold Depot to provide first point of contact between service users and professionals within various departments.

The duties include driving accessible buses, collecting young people and adults with various needs from their place of residence to various centres based around Bury and returning them to their residence at the end of the day, also to assist with any personal care tasks necessary before, during and after their journey and assisting as needed upon arrival at their destination.

You will be willing and able to assess situations to enable a trouble free journey for all concerned and deal with different situations as they arise and take appropriate remedial action.

The post is subject to DBS enhanced checks.

The post holder will be able to administer first aid as required.

Training will be given, and you will be expected to attend training courses as necessary.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours Monday to Friday on a daily split shift (Mon to Thur 7.30-11.30 and 14.30-18.00, Friday 7.30-11.30 and 14.30-17.30). Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work additional hours.

We currently have vacancies for cleaning posts within our new school buildings and would like to employ three cleaners on a casual supply basis.

There will be either 10 or 15 hour shifts available to suit your needs, either a morning shift, or afternoon/early evening. The hours will be spread over five days, Monday to Friday.
