ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Colleague Communications & Engagement (CC&E) will report to the Director of CC&E and support the Global Oncology organization.
This position will support the Pfizer Oncology Division in developing and executing communications content and strategies that shape the culture of Oncology and enhance the organization’s ability to meet and exceed its business goals. These strategies should connect Oncology colleagues to the Oncology and larger Pfizer vision, goals, and values while also continuing to meet day-to-day company information sharing needs. This role will also have special focus on an Oncology Leadership Team (LT) member, as well as support other LT members on an as needed basis.
Partnering closely with the Director of CC&E; HR; External Communications and other internal communications leads across businesses as needed), this individual will develop and oversee leader communications for an LT member encompassing town hall meetings and events, internal social media, content and creation for diverse communication campaigns and updates.
The Senior Manager will also support creation of new communications channels, improvement or consolidation of existing ones, and the production of best-in-class engagement activities.
The senior manager will also develop and implement content for communications news vehicles (e.g., newsletters, ongoing updates), and graphical elements; and will liaise with the PfizerWorld editor on Oncology’s representation in enterprise communications.
The person in this position will be responsible for understanding and regularly using relevant operational systems, platforms and tools, including intranet sites, the Viva Engage (i.e., internal Yammer) platform, and e-mail and other distribution tools.
This role will collaborate and coordinate closely with HR and the external communications leads, as well as those leading internal communications across the enterprise and specific businesses, to ensure coherent, aligned and mutually-reinforcing messaging that amplifies Oncology’s voice.
This is a role for an experienced communicator with organizational and leader experience as well. This is a creative, energized individual who is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on doer.
The role encompasses:
Providing strategic guidance to leaders and their teams to help produce clear, compelling, and engaging communications that align with Pfizer’s and Oncology’s goals and the Pfizer Purpose Blueprint
Managing and implementing colleague communications for the business including culture and change management communications and leader communications to drive understanding of and excitement about business priorities, key initiatives, and the cultural underpinnings of the business.
Partnering with External Communications, business and Enterprise Colleague Communications & Engagement, HR, Corporate Affairs colleagues, and Digital to ensure alignment with Pfizer’s colleague engagement priorities.
Collaborate and provide input on content & channel strategy to evolve the practice of internal communications of the new Oncology Division, including initiating and/or partnering on projects such as a merged Oncology intranet and unified Oncology Yammer platform.
Providing counsel to senior leaders, and guidance to managers and colleagues while driving execution of organization initiatives.
Will oversee help build a sustainable framework for the above internal communications guidance and support.
The broader team of which this role is a member ensures the correct messaging of programs, processes, and initiatives in alignment with Corporate Affairs and Legal/Compliance priorities and strategies, and ensures processes and programs are strategically implemented and communicated in an effective and consistent manner, and aligned with the business in a manner that is cohesive, effective, and when applicable – compelling and engaging for colleagues.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Manager of Colleague Communications and Engagement (CC&E) will report to the Director of CC&E and work in close partnership with External Communications, HR, Corporate Affairs and Legal organizations to ensure programs are delivered and aligned with business strategies and priorities.
Support the Director of CC&E in the development and execution of internal communications and colleague engagement strategies.
Develop and edit content for internal communications using the internal “PfizerWorld” intranet platform as well as Viva Engage (i.e. Yammer) and/or Teams, newsletters, e-signs, leader communications, FAQs, and other creative modes of messaging to ensure colleagues are kept informed and engaged.
Develop (and distribute, as appropriate) messages, announcements, events, presentations, and other communication vehicles to drive engagement around Pfizer’s Purpose Blueprint company values and Oncology imperatives.
Develop creative solutions and support senior leaders in effectively driving colleague communications and engagement.
Develop initiatives that will help unleash the power of our people and ensure a positive and inclusive work environment and experience for all colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS in Communications, or related field that stresses writing, content comprehension and analysis, required.
Minimum eight years of Communications experience.
Must be a creative and strategic thinker with a talent for developing communications plans and initiatives that drive colleague engagement and enhance their experience.
Must be experienced in supporting leadership.
Solid expertise in communications core competencies with experience in improving processes.
Experience in external aspects of corporate communications are a plus, including media relations, crisis management and executive positioning.
Commitment to editorial excellence – writing, editing, and proofreading skills as well as journalistic ability to source stories.
Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix team environment.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and respond back in a timely manner.
Project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills required along with strong process skills. Any type of continuous improvement experiences a plus.
A strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
Ability to challenge a leader’s perspective when it is in the best interest of Pfizer.
Ability to execute initiatives in a timely manner with high quality.
Ability to learn and understand the business and is motivated to continue learning.

Must be able to work at NYHQ site 2-3 days per week, or as needed by the business.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
