Occupational Therapy Assistant
You will contribute to the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and modification of structured activities in order to measure progression and ensure effectiveness.
Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will support the service in delivering structured activities and assisting in the planning for individual and group therapeutic interventions. You will build one-to-one rapports with service users to encourage participation in activities and empower recovery.
Social Enterprise Occupational Therapy Assistant
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the social enterprise café which is run by service users. You will be providing training, support and supervision for service users to ensure skill development and satisfaction in their role.
You will co produce with service users, menu’s for the café, support and develop food-based events including initiatives to build awareness and contribute to positive wellbeing through the cafes menu as well as providing training courses for service users, projects and developing partnerships with local services.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.
As a Occupational Therapy Assistant you will be:
- Assisting Occupational Therapists, Nurses and other MDT staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care plans.
- Working collaboratively with patients /service users to identify and work towards their recovery focussed goals
- Maintaining adequate records, entering details in the service user healthcare records.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Part-Time/Full time Occupational Therapy Assistant:
- GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
- Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled in a range of activities, e.g. art, music, horticulture, animal care
Social Enterprise Occupational Therapy Assistant:
- GCSE/O-Levels (A-C) or a relevant NVQ2.
- Experience in a similar environment & Mental Health
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Level 3 food hygiene certificate
- Previous experience in the food service industry
- Experience of supervising staff/ workers

Location: Townfield Lane, Winwick, Warrington, Cheshire, WA2 8TR
You will be working at Arbury Court, a service that provides care and treatment for women in differing levels of security, enabling clear care pathways and a positive patient experience.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team focusing on medium, low Secure and psychiatric intensive care PICU) for women, over the age of 18, with Personality Disorder and Mental Illness. The treatment approach at Arbury Court which is rehabilitation and recovery dictates that care is ‘person-centred’ as opposed to ‘disease-centred’.
