Welcome to TRUe:The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) aims to deliver faster, longer, more frequent, and more reliable services across the north of England, from Newcastle, Hull and York towards Manchester and Liverpool via Leeds.
The aim of the TRU Alliance is to transform the East of Leeds route allowing people to travel faster, more reliably and in greater comfort between the North’s great cities. Providing passengers with more choice, more seats, and better facilities on a safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly railway.
The Quality Advisor will ensure the Alliance’s quality assurance procedures are followed, maintained, and improved to meet the requirements of the Alliance Integrated Management System and the administration related to quality issues is updated and maintained.
The Advisor will work closely with the Quality Manager and other Business Improvement team members to help ensure that the Integrated Management System is satisfactorily maintained and ensuring that Alliance activities are managed effectively and maintained to the highest standard(s) and are continuously improved..
What you will be doing
- Developing, maintaining, and delivering a risk-based audit programme, ensuring that organisational learning is identified and communicated, to build resilience.
- Develop audit plans, lead audit teams to conduct audits, write audit reports highlighting risks and opportunities as appropriate.
- Investigating and following up on potential and actual non-conformances, accidents, incidents, and high potential close calls where a quality implication is identified, ensuring root cause identification, and implementation of corrective actions is completed.
- Facilitate external or client audits and follow-up and report on the implementation of the audit findings raised
- Supporting Alliance Partners with Supplier Development and Control processes, including supplier audits, quality plans, non-conformance management and supplier selection.
- Investigating and ensuring action to eliminate the cause of potential and actual non-conformities to prevent their occurrence and in all cases of non-conformity, the actions to eliminate the root cause.
- Develop and maintain the Alliance IMS, ensuring it addresses all relevant internal and external requirements
- Work closely with the Project Functions to ensure IMS procedures and supporting process architecture are maintained to meet the needs of the project
- Enhance Continual Improvement via the IMS by conducting regular reviews and checks of the IMS and promoting feedback from the project teams
- Review new and revised legislation, industry standards and guidance documents
- Promote the digitalisation of the Alliance by supporting the Business Systems team in the implementation of systems applications such as SharePoint, ASite/ADoddle, Office 365 etc.
- Develop, implement, and deliver the Inspection and Test Process, working closely with the AMP Coordinator and Project Managers to ensure completion.
- Monitor and report on status of inspections and identify trends arising from inspections and tests.
- Promote a culture of risk and opportunity management within the Alliance, ensuring where risks are identified that suitable mitigation controls are implemented and maintained.
- Promote and improve the quality culture via Knowledge Shares, assisting in collaborative workshops and via visibility in the site offices.
- Attend client meetings and forums as required. Attend project meetings and location meetings to ensure all quality requirements are considered and actioned.
- Assist the Quality Manager in the development of Quality Plans for the Alliance and for the projects within it.
Who we are looking for
- Experience in a Quality Advisor role or similar, in an engineering, manufacturing or construction environment
- Familiarity working with and supporting Integrated Management Systems combining multiple ISO standards
- Detailed knowledge and suitable qualifications in Quality processes, standards, and improvement techniques.
- Supply Chain/Supplier Development Experience
- Qualified QMS Lead Auditor (ISO9001; 2015).
- Affiliate Member of the Chartered Quality Institute
- Track Safety/Passport competence relevant to role
- ONC/HNC or Degree in a suitable subject
- Internal/Lead Environmental Auditor (ISO 14001:2015)
