The Maintenance department is looking to recruit a maintenance plumber.

The role will undertake planned maintenance and alterations of essential mechanical systems across the diverse building services of the Trust estate.

Post holder is to carry out day to day electrical repairs, planned maintenance and improvements to the Trusts buildings in a manner that conforms to statutory regulations and codes of practice, while ensuring smooth running of the Trust.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting the Ward / Department team in providing the highest possible standard of care for patients and their families/carer.

The post holder will undertake a range of tasks and duties as delegated by a
registered nurse.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participates in all aspects of patient care with particular attention to personalhygiene and grooming.
• Provision of patients toileting needs, ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained.
• Support of patients in managing incontinence and promotion of continence.
• The recording of a patient’s fluid intake and output using fluid balance charts.
• Preparation and serving of patient’s meals, drinks and snacks. Assisting / feeding patients as necessary.
• The recording of patient’s dietary intake when indicated in the patient’s plan of care.
• Enable patients to maintain/improve their mobility by use of exercise and mobility appliances.
• Assist in the prevention of pressure sore development as directed by the Registered nurse in conjunction with the patient’s plan of care
• Carry out any movement and handling within the safe practice guidelines from your mandatory training and in relation to the patient’s manual handling plan.
• Obtaining specimens from patients for ward or laboratory testing.
• Removal of cannulae, catheters and nasogastric tubes
 Undertake the dressing of non-complex wounds (in accordance with identified competencies and in conjunction with the plan of care)
• Naso-gastric/PEG feeding once the tube has been passed and checked by a registered professional
• Prepare and maintain environments for clinical treatments and investigations
• Prepare patients for treatments, investigations or procedures including offering support, answering questions appropriate to own knowledge/experience and assisting in recovery
• Collection of Blood products from laboratory as requested
• Chaperoning and escorting patients to clinical departments within the hospital and to other hospitals for investigations.

The cellular pathology service is the specialist laboratory hubs of the Cheshire and Merseyside cellular pathology network, is the main training centre for cellular pathology trainees and has strong academic links with University of Liverpool. The service has recently moved to purpose built new laboratory facilities on site at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and full roll out of digital pathology makes this the perfect time to be joining our dynamic and expanding department.

The appointees will have a significant commitment to the gynaecological pathology specialist team, where close collaboration exists between clinicians and pathologists. We are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) Band 3, with good communication skills, to work as part of the Clinical Chemistry Team. Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL) is seeking to appoint a substantive Advanced Practitioner Healthcare Scientist (Histological Dissection). This is an excellent opportunity to join the largest provider of specialised histological pathology services in Cheshire and Merseyside.

The successful candidate will be a registered Biomedical or Clinical Scientist with a significant background in histopathology dissection. We are seeking a strong leader with attention to detail and an innovation mindset.

Candidates who not hold an Advanced Specialist Diploma (histological dissection) are encouraged to apply and, if successful, will be supported to complete the portfolio and appointed under Annex 21 terms and conditions.

In addition to the dissection role, candidates will be responsible for leadership and management for the dissection and specimen reception services in collaboration with a team of Expert Practitioner team leaders.

The directorate is currently reviewing the roles and responsibilities of the dissection workforce.

Advanced Dissection Practitioners undertake a wide range of complex scientific procedures which result in the correct interpretation of biological samples. Their decisions contribute to the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of diseases, including cancer, and the investigation of other pathological processes. They dissect the full range of histological specimens from all specialties (Category A-E) as required, and competent.

Together with a team of expert dissectors, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring quality practices are adhered to in line with ISO15189 and ensure training for biomedical scientists and laboratory technicians is prioritised.

Additionally, the post holder will collaborate with our Consultant Pathologists to assist with the training of medical specialist trainees where appropriate.

We are a LUFT dialysis centre and have 9 units across Merseyside and strive to provide excellent care and standards to our dialysis population. The unit currently has 12 stations with 3 shifts of patients per day .The unit is open Mon - Sat 0700-0000hrs with shifts that include a variation of 0700-15.30/1500-0000 and 0700-18.30hrs.

It is a Nurse Led Unit with 2 Consultant Nephrologists , and a dietician as a part of our MDT. We follow the Named Nurse Concept and all Dialysis staff have a cohort of patients to monitor and provide an Holistic approach to care.
