The main job purpose is to coordinate operational aspects of the packaging laboratory for the virgin plastic reduction (VPR) packaging team, focussing on sampling, packaging testing and reporting whilst ensuring safety within the lab facilities is a key priority.

Main Accountabilities

• Responsible for ensuring operational use of several activities in packaging labs
• Provide support to deliver testing program, including identifying opportunities to streamline processes
• Provide clear, accurate measurement & testing reports, with conclusions and recommendations, working with VPR team to drive consistent data output via digital tools, in line with functional excellence guidelines
• Provide problem solving technique & options to assess findings of packaging testing
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to, and training requirements are kept up to date
• Ensure the laboratory housekeeping standards are upheld
• Ensure sample request and tracking are updated

Knowledge and Relevant experience:

• Minimum A level, with science / engineering background. Formal packaging qualifications preferred.

• Laboratory experience, ideally in a packaging context
• Experience / appreciation in Packaging and/or Engineering/Manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in laboratory Measurement and testing equipment
• Fluent PC skills including Excel (using formulas and generating graphs), Powerpoint & Word.
• Experience of using a variety of software, good computer literacy
• Safety train - as a minimum RA, Manual Handling, CoSHH assessment and ISOSH Working Safely

The position is based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral - easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 18 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role would require you to lead the implementation of engineering projects within the Sourcing Units, including design, installation and commissioning of process plant and equipment.

Key Accountabilities

• The preparation of equipment schedules, cost schedules and project documentation.

• Conduct technical surveys and feasibility studies to enable project decisions to be made.

Class 2 Mini Bulk (ADR) Drivers

Location: NEATH
Shift times: DAYS

Manpower is currently seeking Class 2 ADR Drivers for our client's winter peak at their Neath site.

This role involves working 4 on 2 off, with flexibility for other shift patterns as needed to support the business.

You'll have guaranteed 42.5 hours per week, with overtime opportunities after 42.5 hours or on weekends.

Over time is paid at Time and a half

As a Class 2 ADR Driver, your responsibilities will include operating tankers and delivering gas to remote locations, serving farms and homes without a gas supply. This is a seasonal winter pressure contract lasting approximately 6 months.

Full training and necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.

ADR however will need to be obtained by the driver ahead of interview.

The position is based at our client's scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 6 months requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £33,021 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

You will work as part of a team; working proactively and independently in a multi-functional, multi-cultural environment; adhering to prescribed procedures and health and safety guidelines.

RESPONSIBILIITES:

• The main part of this role is to formulate accurately to a specified recipe, this is a task that requires a very high level of accuracy and attention to detail including:
  • Accurately weigh out materials to a defined recipe and order of addition
  • Accurately record all laboratory work including labelling
  • Perform required quality checks on incoming raw materials
  • Safe handling and storage of a range of raw materials
  • Work closely with laboratory team to ensure good management of raw materials including following prescribed processes for stock reordering
  • Ensure all equipment is kept clean and calibrated for accurate use
  • Comply with all safety and lab management procedures (Risk Assessment, Health Safety, Laboratory Management, Standard Procedures).
  • Update project team on challenges and timing changes.

Key Skills:

• Practical laboratory experience in accurately making samples is critical with a proven keen eye for safe and effective procedures.
• Curiosity in fragrance is essential with industry experience highly desirable
• Experience in compounding work, designing formulation, measurement science or analytical sciences highly beneficial
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work alone as required
• Awareness of safety within the laboratory including working to standard operating procedures, risk assessment and CoSHH is essential.Highly motivated; numerate with great attention to detail and an interest in products and fragrances.
• Ability to communicate clearly around deadlines and challenges.
