4.1 Laboratory Operational Management Direct and lead all aspects of the scientific and innovation activity of the GLH and associated laboratories within the GLH Responsible for the Synnovis bioinformatics / informatics team ensuring that the needs of the Synnovis laboratories are met and that processes are continuously streamlined. Work closely with and support the GLH Operational Director to ensure the overall operational direction and management of the GLH Advise on new technologies and approaches including testing strategies and provide information on new tests to be included on the National Genomic Test Directory, appropriateness of testing procedures and composition of virtual gene panels Responsible for the Synnovis Genomic test development and implementation team and the timely implementation of new tests and projects aligned to GLH requirements. Act as the senior scientific advisor in the GLH on the integrity and validity of results generated from genomic testing 4.2 Strategic Scientific Leadership Set strategic direction in line with NHSE vision for the NHS Genomic Medicine Services and with any nationally or internationally agreed projects and initiatives in genomics Maintain the GLH at the forefront of genomic science working with NIHR and other bodies as appropriate Act as a senior scientist in the wider GMS both regionally, nationally and internationally. Work with Genomics England to support the national genomics research and industry agenda and be an active member of relevant research and discovery fora contributing to research and industry collaboration To be responsible for disseminating research findings through presentations at local, national and international meetings and through publications in scientific journals, as appropriate. Work collaboratively with the Health Innovation Network and be an active member of and help to shape the Genomics Innovation network 4.4 Financial and Commercial Management Jointly review and approve business cases for investments required for the development of the GLH services, including for technologies and equipment. Evaluate the cost effectiveness of new services and technologies when compared to existing services and recommend new investments where required. Work with Procurement and IT colleagues to ensure the cost effectiveness of data storage 4.5 Information Management Drive the continuous improvement of Synnovis Genomic LIMS and the use of Decision Support Software across the GLH to reduce manual steps, including the automation of processes and reporting. Oversee the development of bioinformatics systems and ensure systems across the consortium meet the technical requirements of the service, as well as any contractual obligations. Work with Informatics leads and the GLH IT & Bioinformatics Committee to define system requirements and select suitable suppliers or services to meet these requirements. Ensure all information systems meet information governance as well as scientific requirements. 4.6 Human Resources Work with the Education and Training leads and the Operational Director to develop and implement an education and training strategy across the GLH Responsible for ensuring and maintaining scientific expertise within the GLH Manage the GLH Scientific Leads as well as the Synnovis Bioinformatics / Informatics and new test development teams while providing leadership and coaching regarding sound operations management. The postholder will work with the Digital Leadership team across CLCH, WL and CNWL to develop and enhance and deliver cross-cutting collaboration of digital programmes that support the Trusts strategies and long-term plan commitments. The postholder will lead on unifying, developing and implementing new ways of working using digital and data that will optimise the health and care experience of not only our workforces, but those using our services. They will work with key leads within the Trusts as well as establishing strong external partnership relationships which join up pathways of care across organisational boundaries. The postholder will play an important role in building and managing external relationships across our ICS and Place Based footprints and will support members of the Digital Board in contributing to ICS and place based Digital Strategies. The postholder will undertake significant engagement and working in collaboration with a number of different stakeholders, including ICS and Place based Partnership leads, commissioners, acute, primary care, and mental health providers as well as the public, voluntary and community sector organisations Initially the role will have a particular emphasis on working with Digital teams to lead and shape the delivery of a number of key cross cutting priorities across our organisations. The role is expected to provide visible leadership, be driven by data and promote high standards by modelling the values and behaviours expected of a senior manager in the NHS.

Driving High Quality and Sustainable Outcomes The Director of Performance and Planning and Deputy COO will lead on the identification of any performance risks or issues and work with the Clinical Group Chief Executives to develop impactful solutions. The post holder will lead the direction and oversight of performance and assurance at an aggregate level across the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities and that any performance risks are identified in a timely manner. They will also lead on the design, development and deployment of the appropriate reporting and monitoring mechanisms to the Trusts and Clinical Groups Boards. The post holder will work at the heart of a complex set of accountabilities and relationships. They will be expected to develop strong collaborative relationships both internally with the Clinical Groups and externally with the ICB and APC and neighbouring providers whilst maintaining an objective and constructive view of performance and elective recovery issues. Build a robust and productive relationship with the ICB and APC in order to lead on the delivering the performance and elective recovery agenda for South East London. Planning and Organisation The post holder will: Lead on the future design, development and implementation of the Trusts performance management framework, ensuring that it operates efficiently and effectively and provides the necessary assurance to the Trusts Board and Clinical Group Chief Executives. Develop the system and lead on the Trusts approach for capacity and demand modelling to support future planning and to monitor demand changes. Lead as the local expert on the performance management of healthcare services; integrating systems and managing effective working relationships with the appropriate stakeholders. Represent the Trust in sensitive and political situations, delivering difficult messages where required to senior teams and external organisations. Be the operational lead on behalf of the COO for internal business planning and the NHS national operational planning round
