Specific duties within the General Medicine Department include: Along with the General Medicine Consultants and junior colleagues provide care to patients. Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients in the General Medicine Department. Taking the role of Team Leader in the management of patients with deteriorating illness with the consultants within the department. Supervision of Junior Medical Staff including clinical work, time keeping and documentation. Teaching of Junior Medical Staff and Medical Students in the clinical setting. Assist to maintain the flow of patients through the department. Liaise with the Nurse Team Leader in the management of the department.Undertake other responsibilities by mutual agreement with the Consultants as part of continuing professional development and clinical governance. The appointee will be responsible for teaching assessment as directed, contributing to graduate and continuing medical education activity locally, regionally and nationally as appropriate and to participate in clinical audit under local arrangements.

Business and Strategic Development Promote the range of general practice advice and liaison services provided by DDLMC Ltd. Support the development of new liaison initiatives, meetings, and events to support GP practices Provide input at the DDLMC Executive meetings as required. LIAISON, SUPPORT AND REPRESENTATION Deliver a range of high quality, accurate and responsive advisory and liaison support services to GP practices. Maintain the practice liaison database and the SharePoint practice support pages. Maintain a good working knowledge of GMS, PMS, APMS and NHS other contractual regulations. Provide advice, guidance and signposting on a range of regulatory, legal, partnership, complaints, and performance matters. Maintain a good working knowledge of developments in contracting and commissioning including PCNs, ICS and ICB Ensuring the DDLMC Team continues to offer a responsive, professional, high quality service to general practice. Develop a good working relationship with internal and external colleagues working for the NHS, Local Authorities, and any other relevant organisations to ensure there is a mutual understanding of the consequences of any policy or service implementation. Alongside the DDLMC Executive advise on changes affecting General Practice. Support the DDLMC Executive to work alongside key stakeholders. Communication Responsibilities: Deliver and manage external communications to member practices representing DDLMC through digital platforms such as: DDLMC website Newsletters E-updates Social media platforms Email correspondence Support organisation and delivery of: Annual Conferences Annual General Meeting DDLMC Committee meetings both virtual and in person PM meetings as invited or requested Attendance and present at ad hoc webinars or conferences TEAM WORKING Participate in a team approach to managing workload and commitments. Keep colleagues up to date on a systematic basis. £1000 bonus when completed 12 months service (£500 for PT). Full time - this entails fixed shift working in a team rota pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 days off: 06:45 to 19:00 for 2-day shifts followed by 2-night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00. Part time - this entails fixed shift working: 06:45 to 19:00 for day shifts and night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, working in a team rota pattern of 2 day shifts on, 8 days, 2 nights, 4 days off. Rolling rota available 2 years in advance. Average estimated overtime £3500 per annum NMC/HCPC Registration paid
