In collaboration with other Lead/Specialist Pharmacists to jointly provide professional, managerial and clinical leadership to the team of pharmacy staff involved in the delivery of pharmaceutical services to the relevant Clinical Service Line. To provide active support and mentorship to the Rotational Pharmacists to further develop their leadership potential. Develop, implement and monitor pharmacy services to ensure they are consistent with Trust priorities and requirements and are aligned to the over-arching patient focussed ethos of the pharmacy service whilst ensuring compliance with medicines legislation. To provide the Principal Pharmacist for Acute/ED & Elderly Care and Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager with regular assurance that the pharmacy service is meeting agreed Key Performance Indicators. To actively manage the day to day activities of Rotational Pharmacists, Medicines Management Pharmacy Technicians and Pre-Registration Pharmacists to deliver a safe and responsive clinical and operationally effective service that meets the needs of patients and other healthcare staff To provide high quality clinical supervision and mentorship of Foundation Pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists, MSc students and pharmacy undergraduates in the provision of pharmaceutical care for patients.

The appointee will join the well-established Respiratory Department. The successful candidates will complement the consultant capacity to enable an effective and seamless respiratory service, in both in-patient and outpatient settings. There may also be opportunities for the successful candidate to take part in activities at the Trusts Bedford Hospital site, depending upon their clinical interests. A sub-speciality interest of relevance to a Respiratory Department will be considered, as is an enthusiasm for teaching, audit and research. The precise sub-specialty responsibilities for this post will be open to negotiation among the consultant team following the appointments. Applicants will have the opportunity to discuss during the interview if they want to contribute to the general medical rotas or to do pure respiratory medicine. The Applicant will participate in the seven day service rota and respiratory on call/respiratory HDU rota. Consultants joining the organisation are given dedicated time in their job plans for new service development and to pursue their sub specialty interest. The post-holder and other consultant colleagues will be expected to cover each others absences on annual or study leave. Weekly work commitments will be within the European directives on working hours and will also be influenced by the Royal College of Physicians recommendations, the new consultant contract and specified in the Job Plan. The senior Respiratory Consultants in the department will act as mentors for new consultants, along with the other consultants in their absence. All clinical issues are openly discussed at formal and informal meetings. The allocation of programmed activities will be based on 8.5 for direct clinical care and 1.5 for supporting professional activities. The detailed job plans will be agreed in consultation with the Clinical Director and the Consultants in the Department, with the approval of the Medical Director and Chief Executive or his/ her representative. The job plans will be a prospective agreement that sets out a consultants duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It will cover all aspects of a consultants professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It will provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external. In addition, it will provide personal objectives, including details of links to wider service objectives, and details of the support required by the consultant to fulfil the job plan and the objectives. The pattern of work may change in the future to meet local changing needs and annual review meetings will take place in line with the new Consultant Contract, job planning and appraisal arrangements. This post will provide a specialist service within CAMHS to young people and their families. This is a community-based post, located within the EBT in North Bedfordshire CAMHS offering flexible, evidence-based episodes of care, assessments and treatments, including group-work. The post holder will directly contribute to the positive working environment within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, and will be required to account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit. The post-holder will produce reports on developments for North Bedfordshire CAMHS managers and multi-agency partners. To assist in the delivery of the safe, effective and efficient supply of aseptically prepared chemotherapy and other medicinal products in accordance with work instructions. To prepare documentation and labels for supply of ready-made aseptically prepared products. To accurately dispense outsourced parenteral chemotherapy treatment, ensuring product is fit for purpose and the batch number and expiry dates are recorded accurately. To dispense oral chemotherapy and supportive medicines on electronic prescriptions from the Oncology and Haematology department, according to specific drug requirements. To ensure materials are stored appropriately according to manufacturers requirements; to monitor expiry dates optimising drug usage. To organise and maintain documentation and records, archiving according to legal requirements. To report to Senior/Lead Aseptic staff any incidents and procedural deficiencies which require corrective and preventative actions. To work with Senior Aseptic Technicians to ensure all required chemotherapy is ordered and allocated to patients and the relevant databases updated. To assist with ordering of patient-specific chemotherapy doses from external aseptic compounding companies, communicating and problem solving issues regarding dose changes and cancellations. To be responsible for receipting chemotherapy doses for patients, allocating doses appropriately using the in-house ordering database and highlighting defective products all in accordance with the MHRAs GDP. To deliver checked and released patient specific chemotherapy to the Oncology day unit at start of day, relaying back to senior colleagues any queries from nursing staff regarding that days chemotherapy. To monitor expired drug stock and minimise wastage; to help maintain the stock wastage database. To relabel outsourced adult Parenteral Nutrition (PN) infusion bags in an accurate and safe manner, if required by the PN team Pharmacist To contribute to the Quality Assurance of all products and supplies by using approved systems of work and participating in audit. To undertake continued professional development and training as necessary to ensure a high level of competency in carrying out the tasks required and to enable further appropriate development. To participate in the Final Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) Scheme. To be an ACPT and complete final accuracy checks on Chemotherapy and supportive medicines, against clinically screened prescriptions. To regularly attend and actively participate in discussions at Aseptic Services staff meetings. To obtain GCP qualification and maintain Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and annual updates regarding Clinical Trials. To ensure the disposal and recycling of chemotherapy and other medicinal products is carried out in a safe and efficient manner within the Aseptics Unit in accordance with Health & Safety (H & S), COSHH regulations and departmental work instructions.
