Key functions of the post include: Review of all new patients Overseeing the discharge of patients discharged home on anticoagulants Patient training, education and counseling of patients on anticoagulants vitamin K antagonists, Direct Oral Anticoagulants and low molecular weight heparin. Follow up appointments to review patients in nurse lead service. To perform INR testing a using Near Patient Testing device. To see patients in anticoagulant clinic, review INR and adjust warfarin dose as appropriate. Manage patients anticoagulation peri-operatively. Reviewing of patients who have completed their period of anticoagulant treatment. Liaise with Lead Haematology Consultant regarding complex patients. To be actively involved in the prevention of venous thromboembolism and the Trusts risk assessment and thromboprophylaxis strategy. Be involved in the management and supervision of Band 6 CNSs, administrative staff and the Anticoagulant Assist the Lead CNS and Haematology Consultant in service development and improvement. As a member of the team you will work closely with Consultants and existing Nurse Specialists to run nurse-led clinics for patients on anticoagulant therapy. You will need advanced communications skills and ability to deal with patients and relatives at a sometimes very anxious time. You will be expected to play an active role in creating individual treatment plans in line with current research and guidelines. As a registered general nurse you will have considerable nursing experience, preferably with an acute or community background. Experience of autonomous working and management will also be beneficial.

To be considered for this role, you will be a registered nurse with demonstrable clinical expertise, relevant to the ED. You will also be in possession of an Emergency Nursing Course and Mentorship Course (or working towards these courses). The ATLS (observer) or ALS Provider Course would be desirable, recent acute experience in an acute setting is essential. Applicants must be flexible in shift working patterns to include weekdays, Weekends, nights and bank holidays. This post is for a Senior Clinical Fellow in General Paediatrics. This is a 6 month fixed term post with the possibility of extension depending on vacancies. This post is based at Queen Marys St Helier Hospital. The appointee will however work closely with colleagues on all sites, indeed the Trust expects all staff to be committed to cross-site working. During the post you will obtain experience primarily in General Paediatrics including working in a dedicated Paediatric Emergency department, Paediatric Day Care Unit and Outpatient work. The post holder will be a part of the Middle Grade Paediatric team, taking part in the on-call and out of hours rota as part of a full shift system that is fully EWTD-compliant. During this post the successful applicant will gain a range of experience in the General Paediatrics Ward, Paediatric A&E and the Paediatric Day Case Unit. It is anticipated the post holder will continue to develop their skills and experience in all aspects of General Paediatrics throughout the duration of the post.

The Neonatal Unit is a sub-regional Level 2 Centre and therefore admits a large number of very sick and preterm infants from within and outside the districts, greater than 27 weeks gestation. We are able to offer ventilation, therapeutic cooling, ECHO and Cranial Ultrasound. We also have access to MRI and formal EEG to facilitate management of the sick neonate. Babies born below 27 weeks are transferred to the local tertiary Neonatal Unit at St Georges Hospital. Close links are maintained with the St Georges team, who are also available to provide surgical and neurosurgical support. The Obstetric unit also caters for high-risk pregnancies with an obstetrician with special interest in high-risk obstetrics, another in fetal medicine and two obstetricians who are interested in infertility and in-vitro fertilization.
