The post holders primary duties and responsibilities are as follows: Work closely, and in partnership, with NHS clinical staff and relevant community and voluntary sector organisations, to address the needs of patients, and those closest to them, affected by catastrophic injury. Operate a case management approach to individuals, assessing and identifying needs, putting support in place including signposting, making referrals and direct support. Provide consistency in assessment of all patients, irrespective of injury cause, age, status, giving access to the earliest possible specialist legal advice which supports rehabilitation and NHS cost recovery. Maintain detailed case records, including accurate records of activity and intervention, using Day Ones Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, capturing and storing data in line with Day One policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Implement processes and procedures to collect patient and family feedback and contribute to ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Day One services through providing relevant information, case studies and reports. Build awareness of the role and charitys purpose through building strong and effective relationships across the regional major trauma network, ensuring those who need it have access to Day One support. Work closely with local authority, statutory and voluntary organisations to provide patient and family support and advocacy. Help establish other support mechanisms once a person is no longer within the hospital setting, supporting the patient discharge process in conjunction with leadership from NHS staff. Identify and support the recruitment and supervision of Day One volunteers, where appropriate. Support the roll out of our Peer Support Service, focussed on promoting awareness and uptake within the region. Work closely with the wider team on performance, quality, safety and effectiveness of all services, ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies are followed. Work closely with our Fundraising and Communications team, supporting national activity, as well as regional initiatives to raise awareness and fundraise. Be prepared to travel across the region and, on occasion, to other sites and national meetings as required. Willingness to undertake continuous development and training for the role, including mandatory Day One and NHS Trust specific training.

Care Duties Assist patients in meeting their hygiene needs and carry out all aspects of personal care and grooming (to include emptying catheter bags). Provision of patients toileting needs, ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained. Preparation and serving of patients meals, drinks and snacks. Assisting / feeding patients as necessary. Carry out any movement and handling within the safe practice guidelines from mandatory training and in relation to the patients manual handling plan. Newton Ward currently supports all wards across the Sefton, Liverpool and Kirkby footprint and of recent now provides psychiatric intensive care services to the whole of the Mental Health Division. Newton Ward is 12 bedded mixed ward based at Clock View Hospital that provides short-term intensive assessment, treatment, and support to service users, who are experiencing a mental health crisis, and often present with a variety of complex mental health needs. To maximise service user recovery, the team works in a trauma informed way. Our aim is to work in the least restrictive way as possible whilst maintaining patient safety. Upon joining our team, we will ensure that you undergo both mandatory and bespoke training, to fully equip you with the skills required to work within our psychiatric intensive care environment.

Supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students during dental procedures. Recording of treatment and other associated clerical work. Preparation of filling materials, impression materials, instruments, equipment, dressings and syringes. Ensuring the treatment area is clean and tidy, adhering to infection prevention and control procedures. Clearing away used instruments and materials at the end of treatment. Assisting with medical emergencies in line with GDC scope of practice. Assisting clinics with investigations e.g. x-ray procedures, blood tests and bacteriological tests. Receiving patients attending for emergency treatment and triaging as appropriate Providing the patient with pre- and post-operative instructions and ensuring that the instructions are fully understood. Care and minor maintenance of equipment utilised within the dental environment. Assisting with all methods of treatment and surgical procedures and working in any area of the hospital when necessary, Communicating with other departments within the Hospital when necessary, ensuring that follow-up treatment is arranged. Maintaining stock, clearing cupboards and checking expiry dates on bottles and re-ordering stock as necessary. Under the direct or indirect Clinical Supervision of a Qualified Occupational Therapist you will undertake the following duties: 1. To support, with direction, Service Users with activities throughout the therapeutic day. This will be under the supervision of senior Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychological Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists. 2.
