Main duties of the role: The role is part of the Additional Role Reimbursement Scheme to embed Mental Health practitioners in Primary Care Networks. The purpose of the role is to bridge the gap between Primary Care and Secondary Mental Health services by delivering high quality Mental Health care in Primary Care settings. It will allow the Children and Young people of Kent and Medway to receive Mental Health care in GP settings and support individuals to access a range of interventions outside of secondary care services. Assist in ensuring procedures are distributed, understood and implemented by professionals, in the light of new local and national policy. Education and Development Identify personal training and educational requirements in conjunction with the Safeguarding Named Professionals, Specialist Safeguarding Children Advisors and the Workforce Development Unit and attend relevant mandatory and other training pertinent to role. Participate in Annual Appraisals. Participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of safeguarding training, both single agency and multi-agency Undertake the role of mentor, preceptor and clinical support as required to newly appointed staff. Assist in the induction of new staff of other disciplines. To identify the training needs of staff through safeguarding children supervision and support the development and commissioning of training to meet identified themes and trends. The successful candidate will be responsible to and work under the supervision of ENT Consultants.The post holder will be expected to participate in the day to day activities of the department in co-operation with the ENT team. The post holder will provide ward rounds, administrative and audit duties. The successful candidate is advised to participate in research projects and to attend various departmental teaching seminars and regional/ national postgraduate meetings. The post holder duties will ensure that he/she continues to gain appropriate clinical ENT experience. The post holder is expected to start the day promptly to receive any hand-over patients admitted the night before, continuity of care for in-patients and participate in Consultant ward rounds. The successful candidate is expected to be flexible in the exact hours worked each day. It is also expected that the Specialty Doctor will ensure that the Electronic Discharge Notifications are completed and accurate.
