Our Responsive Repairs team now have a great opportunity for a Supervisor to join the leadership team in the East Midlands covering an area based around Leicester, Market Harborough, Northampton, and to support their ambitious plans to grow their team in this area.

What could you be doing?

As one of two Supervisors you will be supervising a multi skill trades team, providing practical and technical support, and assisting the Service Manager to deliver the operational objectives ensuring all works are completed efficiently and effectively whilst engaging the team to bring their best. In conjunction with the Service Manager, your focus will be to support, coach, motivate and engage the team to achieve service objectives, embedding the Bring Your Best Values, and promoting a customer centric approach of ‘value for money’ and ‘right first time.’

By analysing data and measuring performance, you will work closely with the trades teams and your Service Manager to support a customer focussed maintenance service, delivering repairs meeting the required SLAs. You will also assist the Service Manager with the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly business objectives.

We would like someone who has:

A suitable trade qualification - this is essential
Experience of working within a multi-skilled environment
Experience of working within a customer focussed environment
Social Housing repairs experience
Ability to make key decisions, comfortable with responsibility and accountability for successful outcomes in service delivery
Demonstrable experience of supervising or managing a team and leading by example is essential
Excellent problem-solving ability, a solutions-focussed approach and comfortable working within a continuous improvement environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to develop good working relationships
IT Literacy is a must, experience with EXCEL and other Microsoft packages
A full driving licence is essential
As you will be working in Customers’ homes you will also need a DBS check.
This mobile role is based in the East Midlands Northampton, Leicester, Market Harborough area – so you will need to live within this patch - but will require occasional travel to other regional sectors as required. This could include training and meetings at other locations including Birmingham, Worcester, Louth, Skegness, or Matlock.

Cover for out of hours Duty Manager may be required.

What will you be doing as an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative?  
Based in our Louth Programme team and working as an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative (PMO) you will learn all about what it takes to make sure our customers’ homes are maintained to a high and safe standard. You will produce work of the highest quality while providing excellent service to our customers, clients, and your team. 
As part of this apprenticeship, you will learn a wide range of trade skills such as Carpentry, Plumbing, Plastering, Tiling, Decorating and minor Electrical work. The work will be varied and interesting and you will have the support of a mentor throughout your apprenticeship. 
At college, you will study the Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship standard at Level 2 by attending Lincoln College or similar provider one day a week, alongside learning and working with experienced operatives during the rest of the week. 
On successful completion of the Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for any related job vacancies within PPC. If you gain permanent employment with PPC you will continue to be supported in your learning and development. PPC has a strong track record of offering permanent jobs to its apprentices once they qualify. 
Some things we need from you

• Grade 4 or above GCSE or equivalent in English would be desirable  
• Grade 4 or above GCSE or equivalent in Maths would be desirable  
Some things you need to know 
• The team is based in Louth and the surrounding area, so applicants need to live in this area 
• This is a Level 2 course lasting 2 years 
• You would work a 40-hour week working Monday to Friday 
• As you will be working in customer’s homes you will require a DBS check 
• Ideally you would need to hold a full driving licence, but this is not essential at this point, but the role is mobile

In this newly created role, you will be responsible for growing and evolving the team, supporting them as they continue to expand whilst delivering the service to a broader geography.
As part of a national housing association, you will be one of a team of Service Managers responsible for the successful delivery of void property maintenance to Platform Housing Group and partners housing stock. In the last financial year, our void team delivered over 3,000 property maintenance and refurbishment projects. You will play a key role influencing and supporting the strategic growth of Platform Property Care.
Leading a multi-trade team supported by a supervisor, you will be results focused, ensuring the service is delivered to meet contractual timescales and key performance indicators including sector leading customer experience; whilst supporting the wider Platform Property Care team objectives.
Some things we need from you:
You will be an experienced Service/Repairs Manager, who will have previously worked in the housing/ construction industry, ideally with a relevant qualification. You should also have experience of managing and nurturing large teams and are able to bring the best out of your team.
