Our Large Capital Project Services (LCPS) team has a pivotal role in conducting assurance reviews in advance of key decision phases of a project, programme or portfolio to ensure SSE's interests are protected, and that projects are set up for success.

What is the Role?

To protect SSE's interests on Large Capital Projects (LCP) and Programmes, SSE has a process for conducting Assurance Reviews in advance of key decision points or during key Phases of a Project, Programme or Portfolio.

This role will support LCPS deliver its increasingly demanding assurance programme with a strong focus on Execution through leading assurance interventions on LCPs based on their depth of experience and specialist skills. In addition, the role will support the Business in providing knowledge in aspects of Large Capital Project development and delivery or other significant Business areas as required.

In this role the main responsibilities will be;

• Lead assurance reviews to accurately report the status of projects and their readiness to seek approvals in accordance with the Large Capital Projects Governance Framework.
• Review and update the Large Capital Projects Governance Framework and its associated documentation to ensure it aligns with industry best practice and remains relevant to SSE Group requirements.
• Monitor Project Team performance addressing recommendations arising from Project Assurance Reviews and support the Business Units through identifying key trends to support the adoption of lessons learned and best practice.
• Deliver Large Capital Projects Governance Framework induction workshops to support its consistent application by Project Teams across the SSE Group.

- Work closely with the Business Units to coordinate the timely completion of Project Assurance Reviews including adherence to the applicable governance and assurance requirements.

What do we need from you?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

• Knowledge and experience of delivering capital projects in a utility, oil and gas or process environment and a strong familiarity with governance of capital projects >£40M or a strong corporate governance background.
• Extensive experience and a strong track record in at least one key project skillset, such as: Development, Delivery, Project Management, Procurement or Commercial Management.
• You must be professional, flexible and capable of quickly understanding business processes and able to identify their strengths and weaknesses as well as having an understanding of key financial metrics and project economic modelling.
• You must be confident, assured and able to demonstrate project leadership and gravitas as an accomplished project manager and/or equivalent professional skillset.

Brand new role which will part of the Supplier Relationship Management team who will be fundamental in engaging and building productive relationships across the SSE Group with key Software and SaaS Suppliers.

Reporting to the Lead Supplier Relationship Manager, SRM shall be responsible for managing and developing productive relationships with our major Software and SaaS suppliers which have been selected through our Supplier Segmentation process in collaboration with our internal customers. The role holder will act as commercial & contractual advisory between the IT senior leadership teams, and Senior Directors of the relevant BUs with a focus on ensuring that these suppliers are delivering on key deliverables such as service, performance, cost, insights and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Relationship Management. Implement, manage and develop productive relationships between IT, P&C, BU and IT Key Suppliers. Support Supplier Segmentation in collaboration with IT to identify key suppliers.

What do I need?

The Finance Manager - Operations is responsible for delivering operational support to the business in respect of Connections projects, including the review and closure of Connections projects amounting to c£50m of revenue annually, managing the day to day governance of projects including invoicing, refunds, transfers and cancellations, and the compilation and analysis of the Connections Regulatory Reporting pack for submission to Ofgem as part of the wider Distribution Regulatory Reporting Pack, in accordance with licence conditions. The Finance Manager - Operations reports directly to the Financial Controller and leads a wider team of 7. Key responsibilities include:

- Oversight for financial closure of Connections projects, ensuring reviews are being completed efficiently and effectively in line with stakeholder requirements, and refunds and overspends are appropriately approved.

- Responsibility for oversight and management of project ledger, including ensuring transfers, cancellations, invoices and refunds are processed on a timely basis and reconcile to Connections Accounts Receivable.

The SSEN Transmission Offshore Delivery team is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of high value AC projects delivering onshore overhead line, underground cables and substation projects for the Shetland portfolio. Reporting to a Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for the award and management throughout delivery. You will play a pivotal role in the successful execution, ensuring collaboration across the supply chain and managing project interfaces. The role will require closely working with and guiding Project Managers and Construction Managers to ensure alignment and integration with any wider interfaces. The scale of our AC portfolio of projects is already large and is anticipated to grow in the coming years, creating great opportunities for progression within the Transmission business.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role will be:

- Accountable to the Business for the safety, health and wellbeing of all personnel, and for environmental aspects of those Transmission project activities being managed, including compliance with our framework behaviour charters and the CDM regulations.

- Planning, monitoring, and controlling projects or packages in line with Project Execution Plans to ensure that these are executed to cost, schedule and quality.

- Accountable for all commercial aspects of delivery including contract negotiation, contract awards, and NEC contract management, ensuring that any disputes are escalated as appropriate for resolution. Accountable to the business for the budget and delivery of the project / package within this.

- Ensuring the use of recognised project management processes, reporting, methods, techniques and tools, in particular the application of our Large Capital Projects (LCP) Governance Framework Manual.

- Provide leadership and demonstrate our core values. Lead teams, ensuring these are highly competent, well-motivated, and organised to deliver consistent excellence. What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we'd love you to have:

- A proven track record of leading and safely delivering projects or programmes of work to cost, schedule and quality in the Transmission, Construction, Energy, or other regulated industry / the wider utilities sector.

- An engineering, construction, or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience is required.

- Thorough engineering or construction knowledge and understanding, including the associated environmental and safety legislation e.g. the CDM 2015 regulations.

- Commercially astute, with sound knowledge and experience of negotiating, administering, and managing NEC Contracts, a recognised NEC qualification/registration would be a bonus.

- Experience of the governance, reporting, and management requirements for projects and/or programmes of work in a regulated environment, with prior delivery budget responsibilities of over >£10m.

The key duties & responsibilities of the Marine Construction Manager are:

- To support the development of the Offshore Directorate Marine Governance from Opportunity Assessment, through to Execute (Construction and Commissioning) and, where necessary, lead construction teams in the refinement and execution of large capital projects (subsea cables) across the Transmission (Offshore Delivery) business ensuring the safe delivery to programme, cost and the necessary quality.

- Key to this position is not only the leadership qualities required for construction management, but also a strong level of resource management, agile working, contractor and subcontractor management, and the ability to provide the right level of oversight throughout the different stages of the projects, interacting and interfacing with the different disciplines.

- The Marine Construction Manager should provide leadership on site in terms of safety management and best practices, be experienced in accident/incident reporting, and the SSE Large Capital Projects Governance processes for all projects. It is also important that they lead the project teams in alignment with the SSE Safety Culture and core leadership values, and align with the CDM 2015 regulations.

- The Marine Construction Manager should also deliver in alignment to the SHE-Transmission RIIO-T2 Business Plan paying particular attention to the 5 clear goals.

The Marine Construction Manager will take responsibility for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Marine Governance throughout all the SHE-Transmission projects which contain an offshore element, and support the provision of critical construction personnel within each project, providing oversight and guidance on a functional level. Where necessary the Marine Construction Manager will be seconded to a particular project in support of the Construction activities, and to cover site Project Marine Construction Managers for holiday periods on offshore sites or installation vessels.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A strong engineering and marine construction knowledge with extensive experience of personally being accountable for the construction delivery of design, pre-construction activities and offshore installation and landfall activities on large projects, including subsea cable installation (offshore wind), marine and offshore operations.

- Knowledge and experience of using stakeholder engagement methods and tools to deliver comprehensive and effective engagement plans to ensure all stakeholders are properly considered in the development of our Pathway to 2030 projects. Knowledge of Tractivity or Accountability's AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard would also be an advantage.

- Strong organisational and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate complex information succinctly and tailor it to meet stakeholder needs. Confident in building relationships and influencing internal and external stakeholders.

- Self-motivation, resilience, flexibility and with an ability to find the right answers within a fast-paced and diverse engineering-focused organisation. Adept at problem solving, able to consider the 'bigger picture' and long-term goals in assessing an issue and recommending a solution.

- An understanding of Energy Networks and the contribution of SSEN Transmission and its key role in the delivery of net zero targets.

- A degree in a relevant field such as Marketing and Communications, Strategy or Business (or equivalent experience) and a proficient user of Microsoft Office 365.

We also are open to hearing from applicants who do not fit all the above criteria who can demonstrate relevant transferable skills.
