Are you passionate about safety and security in a dynamic environment? Sodexo is seeking a dedicated Security Co-ordinator to join our team at the prestigious University of Greenwich. In this hands-on role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. As the Security Co-ordinator, you'll assist in delivering exceptional security services, manage day-to-day operations, and support the Campus Security Lead in maintaining high standards across the campus.

• Assist the Campus Security Lead to ensure that any complaints are reported and managed in a prompt, professional manner and to provide security support across all of the University of Greenwich contract.
• Assist in the management of the Security operation to give the campuses of the University of Greenwich a security service that is customer focused.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with all Health & Safety legislation.
• Assist and support training needs to ensure they are identified and to deliver training & development.
• Administrative management of the service to include distribution of daily rotas, holding team huddles, deliver of tool box talks, daily briefings/roll call, administration and holiday management.
• Communicate with staff, students, visitors and contractors regarding enquiries, incidents and emergencies.
• Assist and be a point of contact for Incident Management, ensuring that incidents are correctly managed and escalated as per client specifications.

Essential

• SIA Licence holder
• 3-5 years of experience within Security with an excellent understanding of the industry.
• Able to use computer systems in operation within the security section.
• Understanding of CCTV & alarm system’s and how they operate.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work on own initiative, individually and within a team.
• Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues

You will be responsible for ensuring the building, our students, visitors and your co-workers' safety in your role as Security Supervisor at Sodexo at University of Greenwich - London. What you’ll do:

• Assist the deputy and security manager to sure that any complaints are reported and managed in a prompt, professional manner.
• to give the campuses of the University of Greenwich a security service that is customer-focused.
• To comply with Company, client and statutory regulations relating to Health and Safety, fire hygiene, COSHH and safe systems of work.
• To liaise with Sodexo and Client personnel as required and directed to guarantee the delivery of an effective and efficient service.
• Provide a first point of call for visitors and contractors to the site. Issue visitor/contractor badges whilst maintaining a record of those who enter and leave the main buildings.
• Answer questions, report incidents, and handle emergencies with employees, students, visitors, and contractors
• Open and secure the premises including the enabling and disabling of security alarms as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Patrolling, securing, and monitoring premises for any signs of unlawful/unwanted activity
• Monitor CCTV screens and take appropriate action as required

• SIA Licence holder (Door supervisor and CCTV)
• 3 - 5 years experience within the security industry and as a supervisor
• Have a sound knowledge of the Quality Management Systems (Security)
• Able to use computerised systems in operation within the security sector
• Good understanding of the CCTV, fire and security systems
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work on own initiative, individually and as part of a team
• Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues
• Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards

You will be responsible for ensuring the building, our students, visitors and your co-workers' safety in your role as Security Officer in Sodexo at University of Greenwich - London. What you’ll do:

• Give the campuses of the University of Greenwich a security service that is customer-focused.
• Comply with Company, client and statutory regulations relating to Health and Safety, fire hygiene, COSHH and safe systems of work.
• To liaise with Sodexo and Client personnel as required and directed to guarantee the delivery of an effective and efficient service.
• Provide a first point of call for visitors and contractors to the site. Issue visitor/contractor badges whilst maintaining a record of those who enter and leave the main buildings.
• Answer questions, report incidents, and handle emergencies with employees, students, visitors, and contractors
• Open and secure the premises including the enabling and disabling of security alarms as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Patrolling, securing, and monitoring premises for any signs of unlawful/unwanted activity
• Monitor CCTV screens and take appropriate action as required

What you bring:

• SIA Licence holder (Door supervisor and CCTV)
• 1 - 3 years experience within the security industry
• Have a sound knowledge of the Quality Management Systems (Security)
• Able to use computerised systems in operation within the security sector
• Good understanding of the CCTV, fire and security systems
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work on own initiative, individually and as part of a team
• Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues
• Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards

• To be able to write accurate, legible operational logs, security reports and statements.
