• Providing detailed and regular project reviews, reports and KPI's for both telent and client review.


• The contractual Quality and Health & Safety for all projects

What you'll do:

We're looking for an Apprentice Project Manager to join our Rail projects sector. Telent Rail is maintaining operationally critical telecommunications systems that keep stations open and trains running, by providing integrated telecommunications solutions across many of the UK's rail infrastructures such as Network Rail, HS1, Crossrail and Train Operating Companies, TfGM, Transport Scotland and Mersey Travel. This will be a mixture of Telecommunications, Networking and IT projects.

• Learn about the project lifecycle delivery, including supporting the following areas:
• Support and learn about project scope, goals, deliverables, and risk and issue management, reporting, milestone achievements, financial management, comms and engagements, and benefits management.
• Escalate project and programme issues where necessary and help manage the mitigation of risks and issues.

Systems Administrator

Reporting into the IT & Infrastructure Team Leader, the Systems Administrator will be working within an operations team to ensure operational reliability, security and integrity throughout the administration, change and delivery of the application, including the roll out to additional projects. This is a hybrid working role, with travel required to our HQ in Warwick as well as to various datacentres and Network Rail Electrical Control rooms across the UK on occasion.

What you'll do:

• Day to day operational support, responding to requirements from application development teams, the customer and system management team.

This is a hands-on role where previous expertise working on Rail based projects is essential. The role offers hybrid working, with travel to sites in London & Warwick on a bi-weekly basis.

What you'll do:

• Provide day to day management and direction and support to the assigned Project Delivery Team, providing regular and effective communication and prioritisation.


• Identify areas for improvement in project performance to drive continuous improvement


• Determining and defining client project scope and objectives.


• Set up stage gate meetings such as project kick off meetings, project gate reviews (design, start on construction), project close out sessions as defined in the Project Execution/Mobilisation Plan

• Accurately administer employee lifecycle transaction process as required ensuring full accuracy, compliance and maintaining auditability where required - e.g. joiners, moves, leavers, pay and contractual changes, leave, time & attendance, reporting etc
• Ensure unique or complex queries that require specialist advice are escalated to appropriate Centre of Excellence, i.e. ER, Reward, L&D, with the customer kept updated throughout the case handover and eventual resolution.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience of working on Civils infrastructure/Technology projects on ideally the National Highways (NH) network, or Local Authority (LA).


• Previous Project Management experience.


• Detailed knowledge of CDM 2015, including a proven track record in the role of Principal Contractor (PC) for Civils installation activities ideally on the National Highways Network.


• Knowledge of H&S risks and safe systems of work associated with working on the Highways Network


• Knowledge of National Highways practices and standards.


• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
