Facilitates Personal and Professional Development¿s workshops, activities, and events. Responsible for coordinating with the program subject matter experts to assist in increasing student learning through contributing relevant and progressive instructional strategies to the USMC curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, and delivering instruction of high quality. Areas of instruction include employment, education, vocational/technical, and personal financial management disciplines. The primary duties of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Clinical Counselor are to:

• Deliver comprehensive FAP services to active duty Marines, their family members, and others as authorized by Department of Defense (DoD) policy.
• Provide non-medical counseling, screening, assessment, evidence-based and informed interventions, service planning, and clinical case management services. Comprehensive non-medical counseling services consists of individual, couple, family and group sessions.
• Provide services to clients that address emotional problems, behavioral problems, life stressors, domestic abuse, child abuse, and problematic sexual behaviors in children and youth (PSB-CY).
• Conduct psychosocial assessments with individuals, couples and families and make recommendations for services. Include client in service plan development. Exercise clinical judgment to apply expertise in conducting initial assessments to match the client¿s needs to the most appropriate resources. Conduct ongoing risk assessment and conduct immediate safety planning. Report any suspected child abuse and/or domestic abuse as required by policy and mandated by law.
• Facilitate psycho-educational groups, classes, and workshops that focus on both prevention and intervention with child abuse, domestic abuse, and PSB-CY. Topics may include anger management, relationship skill-building, effective and healthy communication, and understanding and eliminating power and control.
• Plan, develop, and implement services and initiatives designed to foster positive healthy relationships within the family structure. Develop and maintain professional standards of service, community referral resources, and maintain a close network with the clinical staff and other service providers.
• Complete and maintain appropriate documentation related to: intake paperwork, screening tools, risk assessments, safety plans, clinical counseling notes, individualized service plans, clinical case management, collateral notes, contact details, and other documentation as required by FAP policy.
• Participate in the confidential Clinical Case Staff Meeting (CCSM), which provides clinical recommendations for supportive services, non-medical counseling for victims of child abuse, domestic abuse, or PSB-CY, coordinated case management including risk assessment, ongoing monitoring of child abuse and domestic abuse victims¿ safety, clinical intervention, and appropriate service delivery for alleged abusers who are eligible for services at the military treatment facility.
• Prepare and participate in the administrative process of the Incident Determination Committee (IDC). Communicate the IDC incident status determination to commanders and others who have a need-to-know status.
• Provide direct services to include screening, assessment, non-medical counseling, safety planning, and referrals with children exhibiting and those impacted by PSB-CY as well as to the family members. Participate in and provide input to the PSB-CY multi- disciplinary team and attend monthly case review meetings. Maintain case records and track statistical data in accordance with Limits of Confidentiality, Privacy Act, and higher headquarters policy.
• Establish and maintain command and military community relationships. Collaborate with other military agencies to support and meet client needs. Coordinate with military investigative agencies, military and local civilian law enforcement agencies, and civilian child welfare agencies in response to reports of child abuse incidents.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under the direction of the activity manager, incumbent assists in providing maximum opportunities for participation in a well-rounded program of planned bowling activities, designed to enhance the physical, mental, and social well-being of a community of active duty military, their family members, retirees and authorized civilians.

Maintains patron relations, event scheduling, and assists in maintaining routine reports and clerical duties, to include league record-keeping as required.  Orders goods and supplies for snack bars. Oversees activities and services to authorized patrons, including general information concerning the facility¿s activities and operations.  May measure and pour liquor for mixed drinks, as well as return liquor to beer refrigerator after every shift.

Conducts frequent inspections to ensure a safe clean and orderly environment.  Sweeps floors, cleans snack bar and bowling areas.  Incumbent may be responsible for opening and closing of the Entertainment Complex facilities.  Employee may be required to transfer between other facilities; e.g. theater, gym, etc., to fill in on an as needed basis.  Positions have similar duties and require essentially the same job knowledge, skills and abilities.

SEMPER FIT EMPLOYEE ASSIGNMENT INFORMATION:
 

Incumbent is assigned to one or more specialized recreational activities within the Semper Fit Division.  Each employee will be assigned to their primary work location but may be required to work in other Semper Fit program based on operational needs.  Ancillary Semper Fit programs include The Barn, Semper Fit Center, HITT Center, Miramar Sports Complex, F45 Program, 50M Pool, Golf Course, PARC, Bob Hope Theater, ITT, and Auto Skills.  Cross training will be provided accordingly.  Hours of operation for each facility vary and work at each location will include nights, weekends, and holidays.  Shift differential pay will be appropriately applied.

MAJOR DUTIES FOR F45 PERSONAL TRAINER - FITNESS SPECIALIST 
 

Provides physical fitness training to authorized patrons to include Active Duty, Retirees, Family Members, and Department of Defense (DoD) Civilian employees for the F45 program.

Organizes and conducts physical fitness assessments such as screening and risk stratification, measurement and evaluation of an individual¿s aerobic capacity, body fat percentage, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, blood pressure, and interpretation of assessment results.  Develops an individualized exercise plan based on physical fitness assessment.

Responsible for individual and/or groups instruction on fitness and implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive fitness program to improve aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, body composition and flexibility.  Will instruct patrons in proper use of exercise equipment while training and how to self-monitor progress either verbally or by composing written instructions for use of equipment, safety, and well-being.  Coordinates with command representatives to develop and implement physical fitness programming for Active-Duty military personnel.

Incumbent will work with populations deemed to be healthy, with no health risk factors, and who were not referred by a physician.

Will be required to run the front desk when not providing personal training or teaching F45 classes or events.  Duties include but not limited to entering data into RecTrac, registering patrons for classes, collecting fees, maintaining attendance records, and keeping track of resale inventory.  Will record customer transactions/sales with accuracy and within established guidelines.  Assists in cleaning and maintaining exercise equipment in proper condition.   May be required to submit Construction Maintenance work orders & Maximo requests as needed for the facility and complete appropriate accounting records as required. May be responsible for opening and/or closing of the facility and securing cash drawer funds at the end of the day.
