This is an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Teaching Administrator to join the College of Arts & Humanities. As an experienced Learning & Teaching Administrator, you will provide effective and efficient administration and support for Learning and Teaching and the student experience and to maintain the effective running of the College and its constituent Schools, in line with the Arts & Humanities Strategy 2023-2028. The role holder will be deployed across the College of Arts & Humanities to meet current operational need with initial deployment expected to be in the School of Culture and Creative Arts and the School of Humanities.

Reporting to the College Student Services Manager (Advising and Policy), the role holder will support the provision of an effective and efficient service to postgraduate and undergraduate students, positively impacting their student experience. The role holder will as part of a wider School and College team support key role holders including Course Convenors, Heads of Subject, Heads of Professional Services and other College leadership roles. As a progressive and constantly evolving institution, the University implements new systems and adopts new ways of working, and over time the role holder can expect to be deployed in other areas of the College to cover business needs. About the role

About you
With experience of working in both traditional and agile delivery environments, you will also have experience in pragmatically applying architecture frameworks to real world challenges, as well as solutions architecture design for complex IT projects such as enterprise CRM, ERP or Product Management.

The successful candidate will have the ability to author and maintain substantial and critical deliverables and architectural artefact, and will possess extensive analytical skills, with the ability to balance short term and long term needs with pragmatism, clarity and transparency.

You will have accreditation in Enterprise Architecture either generally (e.g. ISEB/BCS or similar) or in a specific framework such as TOGAF or Zachman, as well as a grounding in all areas of technology provision, extensive knowledge across a range of areas of technology and an awareness of current trends.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Glasgow’s Experimental MRI Centre (GEMRIC), which brings together teams of talented researchers (biologists, physicists, clinicians) working at the forefront of translational imaging research. The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a Senior Cryo-EM Data Scientist to join the School of School of Infection & Immunity.

The postholder will join us at the Scottish Centre for Macromolecular Imaging (SCMI, https://www.gla.ac.uk/research/az/cvr/facilities/scmi/ ). The SCMI is a consortium of 4 Scottish universities with an interest in cryo-EM – University of Dundee, University of Edinburgh, University of St Andrews, and University of Glasgow, where we are based. We deliver high-quality single particle and tomography data to users from our consortium partners and externally using our flagship CRYO ARM 300 microscope. We also run a sample preparation laboratory and microscopes for negative staining and cryo-screening. These are mostly used by users from University of Glasgow in our role as their local cryo-EM facility but are also available for external use. The work is varied, with many projects and users coming through the facility. On average, we have around 30 active users each year, from total beginners through to experienced principal investigators.

The primary role of this post will be to support SCMI users with their data processing tasks, from data delivery post-acquisition through to deposition and archiving. Example activities include delivering user training in image processing, implementing data processing pipelines and managing our data storage array.

The postholder will be a motivated scientist with a proven interest and aptitude for biological imaging and structural biology. This position is full-time (35 hrs per week) open ended.
