Hours: 32.5 hours, 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Working hours: Monday – Friday 8.45am – 3.45.pm

Age Range: 3-11 NOR 222 (including 28 in Nursery)

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable, experienced, happy and caring LSA who is proactive and enthusiastic with a commitment to learning. An ability to contribute to the warm, caring ethos of our multicultural school is essential. The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, good interpersonal skills, show initiative, share in the planning and evaluation of activities and work well as part of a dedicated team.
St Joseph’s is in the heart of the Gabalfa. We have a strong and supportive community with wonderful, enthusiastic children who are well behaved. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of our children and the community we serve
There is a vacancy is to commence as soon as possible – Grade 3 (SP3-6). The successful candidate will be required to work under the instruction of teaching/senior staff in to provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom, including preparation and routine maintenance of resources/equipment.
Preference will be given to practising Catholics. You will be expected to uphold the Catholic Ethos of the school and be committed to a climate of equality of opportunities and inclusion for all.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
This salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement which brings pay rates up to £12 per hour (scp 2 - 4). This supplement will be reviewed in January 2024 and thereafter annually in April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
