Salary: Grade 4 SCP 6-11 (£23,893 - £25,979) Pro Rata
Hours: 30 hours per week (3 hours am, and 3 hours pm), 52 weeks per year

Due to the retirement of the current post holder, the Joint Site Management Committee of Gabalfa Primary School and Ysgol Glan Ceubal is looking to appoint a Caretaker to manage the shared site of these successful Cardiff schools.

As Caretaker, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the physical infrastructure of our school site and building, ensuring it remains a welcoming and conducive environment for both children, staff, families and the wider community. Your responsibilities will include managing the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and facilities, as well as overseeing health and safety procedures to guarantee compliance with regulations.
Parts of the job will include:
- Conducting regular inspections of the premises to identify any issues and address them promptly.
- Supporting the School Office in managing budgets and procurement processes related to site maintenance, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Implementing health and safety policies and procedures to uphold the highest standards of safety for all.
- Collaborating with school leaders, office, teachers, and support staff to understand their needs and provide timely support.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in facilities management or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle various tasks and prioritise workload efficiently.
