The Role / Key duties:
As our new Teaching Assistant, your role will be to support our children with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.

Like many SEN environments, your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever required.
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting  
A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent is desirable   
GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C
Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures. 
Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD 
Ability to adapt
The desire to put the child first and treat them as an individual

Responsibilities

- To implement group and individual communication programs in collaboration with the team, to be involved in associated planning and preparation and share expertise/knowledge.
- To be responsible for the integration of the school’s communication strategy to enable pupils to access the whole curriculum.
- To assess, plan and implement communication strategies such as AAC systems for children who require them.
- To identify requirements for resources and share these with the Lead Speech and Language Therapist.
- To work alongside other team members, delegating roles for assessment and monitoring of communication skill development as appropriate
- To maintain up to date knowledge of research and clinical practice, identify service development opportunities and implement these in consultation with the Lead Speech and Language Therapist.

The East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) is a 2-19 generic special school with 432 pupils on roll. All our pupils have special learning needs and some have physical/ medical difficulties. About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Pastoral Leader to support students, with identified barriers, in accessing their learning. Working closely with the year group pastoral teams and key contacts. This role would focus specifically on EBSA, Mental Health and well being.
This permanent position is 37 hours per week and is term time only (including INSET days plus 3 additional weeks). The initial rate of pay is the equivalent of £15.70 per hour, paid monthly over 12 months. The pay scale has six spinal points and increments are awarded in September until the top of the pay scale is reached. The actual starting salary is £28,692 per annum.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a School Admin Assistant.
We are looking for a professional and conscientious person who will be a key member of our school’s front office team.
This rewarding role will encompass working in a busy school office, welcoming children and parents, staff and visitors and supporting them with their queries. We are excited to share that we are looking for a Receptionist to join our department on a full-time, 12 month fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities
The successful individual will join our friendly team to provide an efficient clerical and receptionist service for the College and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
In this role you will be welcoming visitors to the College and handling incoming calls to the switchboard and directing calls. Dealing with Student and Parent queries and handling mass mail-outs, e.g. parent letters.
