We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Careers, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CIAG) Advisor at HMP Millsike. This position plays a vital role in supporting prisoners on their journey to successful reintegration, from induction through to release. Join us in providing personalised, high-quality CIAG that aligns each prisoner’s skills and ambitions with real-world opportunities like Release on Temporary Licence (RoTL) placements, training, apprenticeships, and employment
Purpose of the role
As a CIAG Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting learners by providing information and advice, ensuring that they are prepared to find and maintain employment opportunities. This is a challenging role however; you will play a huge role by making a difference in people’s lives.
As a CIAG Advisor, you will:
Deliver Tailored CIAG Support: Provide 1:1 support at key stages, from induction to release, guiding prisoners in career planning, creating Digital Personal Learning Plans (DPLPs), and helping them prepare for life after release.
Promote Job Readiness & Employment Preparation: Lead group sessions on CV writing, interview skills, job applications, and disclosure letters, empowering prisoners to secure and sustain employment.
Collaborate with Employment Hub Partners: Work with the Employment Hub and other stakeholders, ensuring prisoners gain access to education, work experience, and training opportunities that boost employability.
Facilitate RoTL Placements: Support the Prison Employment Lead in identifying and matching suitable RoTL placements and post-release vacancies to prisoners' career goals, preparing them for meaningful employment.
Requirements
IAG qualification at Level 4 or above
AET Qualification at Level 3 is desirable
Experience in providing career guidance, ideally within criminal justice, education, or employability settings.
Exceptional communication, mentoring, and organisational skills.

As a Cover Tutor at HMP Millsike, you will provide essential support across various academic and vocational subjects, stepping in to cover classes during absences to maintain continuity. Your role is vital to keeping learners engaged, promoting digital literacy, communication, and employability skills while fostering a respectful learning environment through restorative practices.

Join the launch of HMP Millsike, a brand-new prison estate opening in Spring 2025, and shape the educational journey from day one.
Teach across Maths, English, ESOL, Business, ICT, Media, Employability, Art & Pottery, and more, adapting to cover classes when needed.
Help reduce reoffending rates by promoting literacy, employability, and life skills that support successful reintegration.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Delivery: Engage and inspire learners with high-quality lessons across multiple disciplines, keeping them motivated and progressing.
Individualised Support: Adapt lessons to meet the varied needs of learners, offering one-to-one coaching and focusing on reading, literacy, and personal development.
Restorative Practices: Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes responsibility, teamwork, and respect.
Admin & Compliance: Complete required documentation, track learner progress, prepare exams, and submit reasonable adjustments where needed.
Collaborative Approach: Work closely with other tutors, learning support practitioners, and prison staff to provide cohesive support, especially for neurodiverse learners.
Requirements:
Level 2 in Maths and English, and Level 2 in ICT, Business, or Employability skills.
Full Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS) is highly deisreable, or willingness to work towards.
Strong adaptability, planning, and organisational skills; experience with reasonable adjustments and understanding of the OFSTED framework.

We’re looking for a dedicated, creative, and organised Learning Support Practitioner to support prisoners in their educational journey. In this role, you’ll work closely with tutors and instructors, delivering tailored educational support to learners, particularly those with neurodiverse needs and literacy challenges. Through individualised support plans, reading interventions, and the promotion of positive, restorative practices, you’ll be essential to fostering motivation, engagement, and inclusivity within our programmes.
Purpose of the Role: As a Learning Support Practitioner, you’ll help learners overcome literacy barriers, build reading skills, and work towards personal and employment goals. You’ll monitor progress, make adjustments, and ensure that each learner has the tools they need to succeed in an inclusive learning environment. This role allows you to champion diversity and promote a culture of positive change within the prison community.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and adapt individualised support plans for learners with literacy and neurodiverse needs.
Provide structured reading and literacy interventions to help learners improve their skills.
Encourage accountability and positive attitudes through restorative approaches.
Work closely with tutors and trainers to integrate tailored support across educational programmes.
Track and record learner development to ensure progress toward literacy and employability goals.
Champion an inclusive, diverse learning environment that supports all learners.
Requirements:
GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English at Grade C. NV2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards this).
Background in learning support and development, with strong knowledge of neurodiverse conditions and strategies to support learners.
Excellent communication, organisational abilities, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and motivating learning environment.
