The Manchester Move Team Leader will manage and coach a team who work with rehousing applicants and ensure that they deliver a high quality and customer focussed service. The role holder will ensure consistency and timeliness in the prioritisation of housing applications and deal with a high volume of Councillor/MP and customer enquiries. The post holder will be comfortable in working with applicants in a variety of settings.
The post holder will become an expert in their field and be able to offer advice to other teams across the Council and Registered Provider Partners to ensure a consistency of approach of Manchester City Council’s housing allocations policy. They will contribute to a wide range of housing need agendas and be able to use creative thinking to resolve problems as they arise.
The post holder will be working with colleagues to manage applicant expectations around access to social housing across housing services and homelessness services and will need to understand the wider housing environment to in which the services operates.
You will work in a fast paced, challenging and demanding environment, you must be adaptable, possess the ability to be flexible and be ready to take on different challenges.
Your first priority is always ensuring that our rehousing applicants are receiving the very best advice and assistance and your passion for delivering outstanding services to everyone will be part of your DNA. You will be a team player and ensure that you also play a proactive role across wider teams. You will have a good knowledge of the root causes of housing need and be empathetic and creative in your approach to problem solving. You are a people person and passionate about making a difference at work.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills. Have good ICT skills including experience of Microsoft packages.
