A vacancy for a Project Officer has arisen to support the development of Family Hubs. This is a fixed term post for 1 year based within the Early Years Team.

The post is a full time vacancy working 37 hours per week.

Purpose and Objectives of the post:

• To effectively project manage and lead on key projects and work programmes across the Early Help Division.
• To support the delivery of Departmental priorities and strategies.
• To undertake specific projects, research, analysis and produce reports on behalf of the Assistant Director and Management Team.
• To support delivery of the Quality Assurance Framework (or assurance mechanisms) to enable progress on improvement to be evidenced
• To liaise with stakeholders within and outside of the Council to support the above

You will be part of a skilled, friendly and supportive team and work closely with a wide range of professionals.

The Project Officer is required to:

• Have an excellent understanding of The Family Hub Programme.
• Lead on the delivery of specific programmes linked to key priorities, including the scoping, planning, implementation and review of work programmes both within the Council and within GM.
• To review and report on the delivery of workstreams and projects to Senior Leadership
• To produce briefings, presentations and formal reports appropriate for the identified target audiences including JET, Scrutiny, Council and Lead Member briefings.
• To support relationships and co-production across the Partnerships and voluntary sector in Bury in respect of services provided to Children and Young People.

You must have;

• Graduate level qualification or equivalent substantial experience
• Project Management Qualification (or significant experience of project management and willingness to achieve a relevant agreed qualification)
• Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and develop joint objectives with stakeholders and senior decision makers, and collaboratively achieving these objectives through effective relationship management.
• Experience of multi-agency working
• Experience of working in a programme / project management environment
• Experience of risk management and ensuring delivery against identified objectives and milestones.
• Experience of working in a high-pressured environment using initiative and managing and prioritising workloads within strict deadlines and timescales
• Relevant skills and experience including keyboard skills, accuracy and speed; IT skills and extensive use of all aspects of Microsoft Office
• Ability to design, write, summarise and produce excellent quality and accurate documents, eg letters, minutes, presentations and reports
• Emotionally resilient with proven ability to deal with sensitive and upsetting situations / people.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bury Council’s Engineering Services as an Assistant Engineer - Traffic within the Network & Asset Management Group.

The Network & Asset Management Group is responsible for Traffic Management, Asset Management and Streetworks.

As an Assistant Engineer - Traffic, reporting to the Network management Team Leader, you will handle enquiries and casework relating to traffic management issues across the borough, visiting sites to evaluate problems and determine solutions. You will assist on the delivery of permanent and temporary traffic regulation orders and the evaluation of traffic management plans for street works. You will advise on and assess traffic management for special events held in the borough such as Iron Man, Bury 10k run etc. and you will also provide technical advice to colleagues where required.

We are looking for someone with a passion for their work who can help make a positive difference to the residents, visitors and businesses of Bury. You will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service, display strong interpersonal skills with a polite and helpful telephone manner as well as being able to analyse data and work on your own initiative in a very busy service. The Council works on an agile basis, meaning you will balance time between the office and working from home. You should spend at least two days of the week in the office.

Educated to level 4 standard in a relevant subject such as traffic management or civil engineering, you will already have some experience working in a traffic management role. You will need to keep up to date with software such as Autocad and Mapinfo, relevant regulations, policy and legislation relating to Traffic Management.

You will have a good understanding of standard Microsoft office programs, and the ability to use them to manage, interrogate and prepare reports using data from various systems. You will be required to write reports, emails and letters.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.

The Headteacher and Governors are looking to appoint a dedicated and motivated Assistant Business Manager and Examinations Officer to join our supportive team. We work with vulnerable young people who are in hospital due to mental health needs. The successful candidate will need to be committed to inspiring young people to achieve a brighter future. During their hospital admission we focus on educational continuity, recovery and next steps. On average 20 pupils per year, take examinations.

The Assistant Business Manager aspect of the role will include school administration and use of management information and finance systems.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience of working with school age children and/or post 16 students
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
• A full driving licence and be prepared to work across different sites

Job Purpose:

• Ensure that all work is carried out to provide very high levels of Customer Service e.g. minimise Customer Interruptions and Customer Minutes Lost, network risk, and customer complaints
• Ensure that all workers engaged on the projects / portfolio of projects are aware of all safety and environmental requirements
• Develop the project execution plan and prepare and present project governance approval papers

Qualifications:

• Experience managing construction or engineering projects of values in the region of £10m plus
• Commercial awareness
• Ideally you will have an Degree in Electrical Engineering , or Civil Engineering all with a Project Management bias
• Excellent understanding of construction management best practice
• Asafety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely will be advantageous as will experience working with the CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality processes
• Experience of Primavera P6, online project collaboration tools, Microsoft Project, the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word and Access) and project management techniques
• Aformal qualification from a recognised Project Management or construction professional body equivalent to APM PMQ or higher or A HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with experience managing the development and construction of electrical distribution projects is the preferred requirement, however, applications from candidates with a lesser qualification and a record of accomplishment in either project management or electrical distribution infrastructures (design or construction) would be welcomed

Nature and Scope:

The Investment Delivery team is part of the Capital Programme & Procurement directorate. The team is responsible for programme management of NAMP lines and work with framework contractors to deliver the programme.

The role of a Project Manager in Investment Delivery is more biased towards Project Management skills than operational skills, although some operational experience would be advantageous.

You will lead a matrix structured diverse, multi-contract project team, and provide the necessary direction, targets and project milestones to ensure good use of resources.

You will ensure that important functions of the project delivery are in place. These include scopes of work, procurement processes, capital approval, resource planning (materials and people), project delivery, reporting and review.

Your role may have a portfolio that is NAMP line specific or cover a range of NAMP lines.

The Capital Programme directorate is planning to increase the Project Management competence in the team and therefore you will be required to undertake a formal qualification in Project Management.

What You Will Do:

As a Project Manager, you'll play a crucial role in the growth and development of our Nu-Form Fire division. Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll prioritize customer experience, exhibit strong leadership, and demonstrate excellent commercial acumen. Based in our Bury office, you'll lead design, estimation, and project management on a diverse range of sites and projects.

How You Will Do It:

Technical Expertise: Design and hydraulically calculate water-based fire suppression systems, including Sprinklers, deluge systems, and Hydrants.

Collaboration: Manage day-to-day design issues with various stakeholders, including colleagues, clients, M&E design teams, Fire Consultants, Installers, Fabricators, Local Fire and Water authorities, and Fire Insurers.

On-Site Engagement: Occasionally work on-site with client design teams.

Project Oversight: Take responsibility for all aspects of projects, including labour management, procurement, site inspections, client and consultant liaison, health and safety, and all other project-related matters post-sale to completion and handover.

What We Look For:

Regulatory Knowledge: Fully conversant with LPC Rules, incorporating BS EN 12845, NFPA, and FM Global standards.

Experience: Bring over 10 years of experience in a similar role encompassing designing, estimation or project management.

Qualifications: Possess LPCB Basic qualification and FHC Qualification. Fully conversant with FHC software.

Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, general IT skills, and AutoCAD for producing 2D layouts.

Hydraulic Expertise: Capable of producing computerized hydraulic calculations and associated layout drawings.

Mobility: Must hold a full UK driving license.
